Love them? Hate them? I happen to enjoy their sounds. I'm seeing them in two days, looking forward to it. Anyone else seen them live? I hear the live show is pretty incredible.

We can be sure that it will be used solely as a means to enter a musical establishment. Surely for nothing else besides that purpose. wink wink

I'd be more than willing to accept. And as a parent, you can justify it because it is exposing me to music a positive music filled environment.

Well, Deerhoof goes on in precisely one minute. I guess it isn't going to work out.

Can you get in if someone 21 plus like a parent, sibling or family member takes you. I am so sorry Sir Rock! Hopefully there's a way around it!

I'd reccomend either Milkman or Apple O' to start.

Also by the way, I'm in a bad mood. 21+. What the fuck? I've been excited for this show for such a long time, to find out day of that it is 21+.

ahaha ha!

I posted about another band I was thinking of being "deerhoof"

I guess I don't know shit about this quartet.
It does remind me of Gabby's "Lala"

jediroller Posted - 09/15/2005 : 13:46:08
I don't really know, I only know that weird little song that goes,

"FLA-wer, FLA-wer, FLA-OO-WER!"

I think it's called "Flower #2".

Any album recommendation for a start?

Deerhoof is the tightest band I have seen live, ever. Their drummer in particular is without a doubt the best drummer I have seen live. Their songwriting has grown progressively more complex and engaging as the years pass. Milkman has moments of serious jazztype rock that just amazes me everytime I listen to it. I'll see them again at the Great American on Oct 15 in SF. They are one of the best bands in the US today. Just my opinion.

I just saw them last night in Boston. What I saw of their set was pretty good. I had to leave early cause the damn trains stop running; next time I'm driving in!

Is Limited Express playing with them? If so, God help you.

They look like city folk. And the drummer needs a hi hat.
prozacrat Posted - 09/14/2005 : 18:13:38
They're good for a listenin' if I want to hear something frantic. When I'm in that mood they're just the ticket.

I have Apple O, Reveille, Milk Man and the Green Cosmos EP. They're great.

Deerhoof has a female singer?

The CDR album I have of theirs is pretty good. 7/10 rating.

There's this one fast finger-picking song, very cool, very western soundtrackish...until he says "f*ckhead" in the middle of the lyrics. Big turn off. I'll never play that one for the family!

I still don't remember hearing a female singer.

Difficult to say. Very frantic at times, angular. Also can be melodic in a bizarre way. Female vocalist has a very pretty voice. If you drop me an email, I'll send you some.
