I'm such a sucker for local bands. Don't know if anyone is interested, but the Dandy Warhols have a new CD out on Spet. 13th.

You can listen to it for free by clicking on a link from their Aug. 22nd news item. I listened to it today and well....I am not jumping out of my boots...but it is interesting to see what they have come up with.

Have a great weekend everyone!

I don't know what they sound like. Any more clues?

I'll give you a hint. Sounds like "The Dandy Assholes".

I turned on my favorite program "Regis and Kelly" this morning (like I always do) and there was this god awful band with the most pretentious poser for a front man I had ever seen. At the conclusion of the racket they were creating, (I'm sorry but they really sucked!) Regis and Kelly came out and tried to pretend they enjoyed it. They were obviously having a hard time doing it to.

Can you guess the band?

Don't you mean The Brian Jonestown Massacre?
Isn't Courtney secretly stealing their rifts? I think they have been since the conception of each band!

You got all the good stories.

They have been claiming in their recent interviews that the drug-intake was greatly exaggerated, but I am not so sure now.

the sad thing is that i really like some of their stuff - that urban bohemia album was great

Well, if it makes you feel better....even here in their own hometown nobody pays too much attention to them.

no, the website i was then working for and i decided that 20 minutes of incoherant rambling and 'fucks' wasn't worth the bandwidth

Broken Face? Did your interview ever even get published? I would love to read it.

My voice/music teacher actually taught a music class to courtney when we used to go to community college. She said he was very "cool" even back then <insert the sarcasism>

They have a song called 'Nietzsche'. It's terrible.

It's called smoke it. I did look for somewhere you could listen to it and the new supergrass single but got distracted.

leaves of three, let them be.
starmekitten Posted - 09/11/2005 : 04:33:21
When I first heard the new single I swear I thought it was supergrass.
martian-honey Posted - 09/11/2005 : 04:10:39
someone told me that their new album was meant to be aweful... im set against that, i really want it to be good, theyre the sort of band i coould really get into. ive heard as cool as kim deal, great title, great lyrics... the tune aint as good as some theyve done.

leaves of three, let them be.

I love both 'Come Down' and 'Thirteen Tales From Urban Bohemia', they are both excellent albums IMO. Both have as good an opening two songs as any album I own.

I wasn't mad keen on the new single when I heard it the other day but I will have to hear it again. Wouldn't mind seeing them live too. Always had a thing for Zia McCabe.

They only have a bunch of good songs.
My fave is "Everyday should be a holiday".
They also have a song called "As cool as Kim Deal" on their first album. It's quite good too.

I like that Junkie song and Bohemian Like You is catchy. They're the only DW songs I know. The irritate me a lot, got sick of hearing that phone ad with Bohemian in it.
