Posted - 09/06/2005 : 14:42:22 Bob Denver, who became a TV icon for his role as the bumbling castaway in the beach-bum hat on ``Gilligan's Island,'' has died. He was 70.
I would post a funny quote by him but the only funny lines in that show were Thurston Howell the third's.

I got to meet Denver once. He was very quiet, reserved, and extremely likeable. Over half of Gilligan's Island are now gone...remaining are Ginger, Mary Ann, and Professor Roy Hinkley Jr.
When I read this headline I immediatley pictured, in fast-motion, holding his white fisherman's hat, Gilligan running away from the camera along the shore with the comedic denoument music cue building to it's last note...hearing over the laugh-track, "Skipperrrrr!" before the final fade.
