Posted - 08/29/2005 : 09:42:17 This blog I visit there's this great lady posts there called Rosemarie Jackowski, from Vermont, and on the day of the worldwide protest at the beginning of the second Iraqi invasion, March 20 2003, there was a peaceful demonstration in Bennington at which 12 people were arrested, including Rosemarie, because they refused to get out of the street. The other eleven chose a plea agreement but Rosemarie went to trial and was found guilty after the jury deliberated for 8 minutes.

The Vermont Supreme Court is hearing the appeal of the conviction on Sep 8, if the appeal is won it's a retrial, if not, she'll most likely go to prison. If you feel like helping you could write a letter to the editor at the Bennington Banner: nhoffenberg@benningtonbanner.com . "Very brief letters in support of me would help a lot," Rosemarie says. "Just short letters of support so that the community would be reminded that the war is still going on." (Please include full name, address, city, state, zip, telephone, e-mail address on all correspondence - letters to the editor will not be printed unless verification information is provided) And if you think of any other ways to help, twould be great too. Thanks, Owen

If I were a millionaire I'd buy every carthorse in Ireland and wait. The day is coming when a carthorse will be worth more than a Porsche.
