Firework shells carrying Hunter S. Thompson's ashes are set to be launched tonight behind his house in Woody Creek, Colorado. Those invited include Johnny Depp, Sean Penn and Ralph Steadman. Lyle Lovett and the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band are supposedly playing. And Depp's said to be footing the bill.

I've always wanted to read his book that he wrote about while he hung for a year with the Hell's Angels. Apparently they almost killed him because they beat his ass so hard at the end. |

has anyone seen the hunter s documentary on the fear and loathing dvd.theres very intresting scene with hunter, ralph steadmen and a lawyor discussing hunters last wishes.
he wants mr tambourine man playing while he shot out of a canon shaped like a clenched double thumbed fist (ok i really didnt explain that very well, but seriously, if you already havent:WATCH IT)

i don't like it one bit. that said i do enjoy the thought of crazy people flocking swarming crawling and knawing about the Docters funeral woodland estate in a state of sheer bliss or horror eather one will do.

I heard that to Kiki. I know HST was a very private individual so I wonder if we'll ever get to see the cannon. It's sort of morbid, but i think it would be cool to see.

I saw Johnny Depp on Jay Leno a while back and he said Thompsons' request was to have his ashes shot out of a 150 foot cannon and since one didn't exist Depp was going to have one built for the occasion. |
