You sure 'bout that? This looks pretty Nick Cave to me...

Nothing is ever something.

I just realised you wrote LIVE, not ORIGINAL.... Sorry. It is a Nick Cave album. It's very good it's a live recording that came out after Henry's Dream. He released it because he wasn't happy with the production of Henry's dream. Why, I don't know. It comes with a nice little picture book too. You'll like it.

Well, recently those have been my favorites. But they're all great. I would get Let Love In. The Boatman's Call, Murder Ballads and Henry's Dream. There are others, but those wre the one's I'd start with. What do you think of Ab/LOO?

Whats the best NC&BS album? I have Lyre of Orpheus and Abbatoir Blues, which are pretty good... which other ones do you recommend?

This is a high class bureau de change, not some Punch & Judy show on the seafront at Margate!

It was released in 1993, I'm not sure if it's still available; I'd never heard of it before seeing the ebay auction which made it mine. I'll be storing that baby on the floor right under the Norwegian flag covering my bedroom window.

I remember a quote from ages and ages ago where he suggested playing the Birthday Party to your parents, or something along those lines.

"There She Goes My Beautiful World" and "Nature Boy" are both belters.

Some shred of my memory tells me I read an interview with Frank Black that was at least 10 years old, but he said he saw Nick Cave performing at a festival and it had some huge effect on him; reminded him what it was he loved about music or something to that effect. It (interview transcript) was probably on Alec Eiffel.

I'll throw my name in the circle as another Cave-man. Actually I'm expecting a Bad Seeds box set to arrive at home next week, it's a live show and a book or something.

You're bound to have a perfect evening then!! Hmm.. Im not quite sure what his last single is.. maybe it's "breathless" ? and why isn't "belting" in the dictionary? does it mean "happy" ? cus then it has to be breathless.

Homers_pet_monkey Posted - 08/16/2005 : 14:46:32
Hmm let me see. Actually I think I heard another one recently. This one was from his last release (this year - perhaps the b-sides comp?). If that's the case then whatever his last single release was (in the UK at least).

The one I was referring to earlier though was on a juke box in my favourite little bar in Manchester. I will go there before I see the Pixies later this month, so I will put lots of Nick Cave on so that I can try and find out which song it was (amongst all the Pixies songs I put on)

You know what I love? "KICKING AGAINST THE PRICKS"! It's an album of covers Nick and the band did of such lovely songs as Hey Joe, Something's Gotten Hold of My Heart, All Tommorows Parties and other lesser known songs- Muddy Water being my favourite. The whole album's got a really cool sound. I'd highly recommend it.
