It's my party and I'll cry if I want to!!!

Yes, I confess I have a heart... and there are songs that make me cry...

"HELLO IT'S ME" by LOU REED & JOHN CALE
This song for example is so tragic and intimate... I can't help feeling nostalgic and shed a tear almost each time I hear it... Lou Reed's voice is loaded with emotion.

"TORN CURTAIN" by TELEVISON
A pop drama... This song has a very classical feeling despite a root production. It is the song that kills me these days. Hopefully they did not play it when I saw them in Paris a few weeks ago...

"SEA DIVER" by MOTT THE HOOPLE
A "rock'n roll suicide" with piano... the voice is not perfect, Bowie should have sung it... still it is wonderfull and reminds me of bygone love... Ride on, my son, ride until you fail...

the only song that has ever made me sniffle a touch is 'i knew it would come to this' by the dirty three.
it has no lyrics, so i can't post them, but the violin, guitar & drums trio make the most emotional music i have ever had the pleasure of hearing.

yes, Coldplay songs make me hilarious, but I must say that I don't cry each time that I listen to one of that songs listed above, but I have cried at least one time on each of it

ok maybe I am a little meloncholy... but I really like the Rainbow Connection by Kermit The Frog. It's the hook that makes me cry.

RAINBOW CONNECTION
Kermit the Frog

Why are there so many
Songs about rainbows
And what's on the other side
Rainbow's are visions
They're only illusions
And rainbows have nothing to hide
So we've been told and some chose to
Believe it
But I know they're wrong wait and see

Someday we'll find it
The Rainbow Connection
The lovers, the dreamers and me

Who said that every wish
Would be heard and answered
When wished on the morning star
Somebody thought of that
And someone believed it
And look what it's done so far
What's so amazing
That keeps us star gazing
What so we think we might see

Someday we'll find it
That Rainbow Connection
The lovers the dreamers and me

Have you been half asleep
And have you heard voices
I've heard them calling my name
Are these the sweet sounds that called
The young sailors
I think they're one and the same
I've heard it too many times to ignore it
There's something that I'm supposed to be

Someday we'll find it
The Rainbow Connection
The lovers, the dreamers and me

I would also say Imagine by John Lennon and Peace Train by Cat Stephens... those optimistic songs that talk about peace.

Going more into total cheeze... "I'd like to buy the world a coke"

I guess Swing Low, Sweet Chariot and when The Saints Come Marching in, too.

Fire and Rain by James Taylor Always Brings a Tear to my Eye

Just yesterday morning they let me know you were gone
Susanne the plans they made put an end to you
I walked out this morning and I wrote down this song
I just can't remember who to send it to

I've seen fire and I've seen rain
I've seen sunny days that I thought would never end
I've seen lonely times when I could not find a friend
But I always thought that I'd see you again

So look down upon me, Jesus
You've got to help me make a stand
You've just got to see me through another day
My body's aching and my time is at hand
And I won't make it any other way

woh, I've seen fire and I've seen rain
I've seen sunny days that I thought would never end
I've seen lonely times when I could not find a friend
But I always thought that I'd see you again

I’ve been walking my mind to an easy time
My back turned towards the sun
Lord knows when the cold wind blows it’ll turn your head around
Well, there’s hours of time on the telephone line
To talk about things to come
Sweet dreams and flying machines in pieces on the ground.

woh, I've seen fire and I've seen rain
I've seen sunny days that I thought would never end
I've seen lonely times when I could not find a friend
But I always thought that I'd see you, baby, one more time again, now

Thought I'd see you one more time again
There's just a few things coming my way this time around, now
Thought I'd see you, thought I'd see you fire and rain, now

this song:

If I get old, I will not give in
But if I do, remind me of this.
Remind me that, once I was free,
Once I was cool, once I was me.

And if I sat down, and crossed my arms,
Hold me into, this song.

Knock me out, smash out my brains,
If I take a chair, start to talk shit.....

If I get old, remind me of this:
That night we kissed, and I really meant it.

Whatever happens, if we’re still speaking.
Pick up the phone, play me this song.

If you invite people who all have the same blood type to a party, but you don't tell them, they'll talk about something else

You can find the main theme on T-REX (1971) but the whole "Children of Rarn Suite" is available on a sort of best-of called "marc bolan.. something..." take a look on the net.

Oh, I keep on, don't mind if nobody cares. I do!

Marc Almond made a stunning cover of this Charles Aznavour daring song "Comme ils disent"
It turned into "What makes a Man" The translation is slightly different, and in my opinion more subtle... And the song sounds much better in English especially when sung by Almond... as usual...

My mum and I we live alone
A great apartment is our home
In Fairhome Towers
I have to keep me company
Two dogs, a cat, a parakeet
Some plants and flowers
I help my mother with the chores
I wash, she dries, I do the floors
We work together
I shop and cook and sew a bit
Though mum does too I must admit
I do it better
At night I work in a strange bar
Impersonating every star
I'm quite deceiving
The customers come in with doubt
And wonder what I'm all about
But leave believing
I do a very special show
Where I am nude from head to toe
After stripteasing
Each night the men look so surprised
I change my sex before their eyes
Tell me if you can
What makes a man a man

At 3 o'clock or so I meet
With friends to have a bite to eat
And conversation
We love to empty out our hearts
With every subject from the arts
To liberation
We love to pull apart someone
And spread some gossip just for fun
Or start a rumour
We let our hair down, so to speak
And mock ourselves with tongue-in-cheek
And inside humour
So many times we have to pay
For having fun and being gay
It's not amusing
There's always those that spoil our games
By finding fault and calling names
Always accusing
They draw attention to themselves
At the expense of someone else
It's so confusing
Yet they make fun of how I talk
And imitate the way I walk
Tell me if you can
What makes a man a man

My masquerade comes to an end
And I go home to bed again
Alone and friendless
I close my eyes, I think of him
I fantasise what might have been
My dreams are endless
We love each other but it seems
The love is only in my dreams
It's so one sided
But in this life I must confess
The search for love and hapiness
Is unrequited
I ask myself what I have got
Of what I am and what I'm not
What have I given
The answers come from those who make
The rules that some of us must break
Just to keep living
I know my life is not a crime
I'm just a victim of my time
I stand defenceless
Nobody has the right to be
The judge of what is right for me
Tell me if you can
What make a man a man

Tell me if you can
Tell me if you can
Tell me if you can
What makes a man a man

Oh, a propos Ferry...
On his latest album lies a pearl...

"I thought" co-written with Brian Eno!

I thought - you'd be my streetcar named desire
My way - my taste of wine
I thought - you'd be that flame within the fire
One dream that just won't die
All night - looking for new love
Impossible true love - nothing at all
Looking for new gods - looking for new blood
Looking for you
I thought - I'd find you walking in the rain
Just like a wayward child
I thought - I'd find you calling out my name
So foolish is my pride
All night - looking for new love
Impossible true love - nothing at all
Looking for new ways - looking for strange blood
Looking for you
I thought - I'd be your streetcar named desire
Your man - the one you seek
I thought - I'd take you deep within myself
Subtitles when we speak
Hold on - the flower says reach out
The thunder says no shout is greater than mine
Listen and hold on - till the day fades out
Smothered in gold
