Last night I was in a party, with musicians (they can be dramaticaly boring). Videos were displayed.. It started pretty well with David Bowie... The "80's floor show or something" performances followed by a TV contest show in 1968 where he performed with nonchalance Space Oddity. Beautiful, I was happy. Then came the Stooges, for the famous scene where he walks on the crowd and the pinut-butter blessing... Pleasant!

And suddenly the fall into hell.... Radiohead for a dramatically pretencious and boring rendition of.. well, a radiohead song, with that typical ton... and that poor sick singer that shakes his head and grims... Please, smash this dying bird...

Then, the White Stripes... Brrrrr, for this "hit (my ass)" song, seven nation blabla... I was shocked to realize how his performance was such a bad imitation of Black Francis...

And then... coup de grâce... Police, live for Message in da bottle... Yes indeed... SOS.

I was stoned and very open minded, smiling and joking as usual... but this Dantesque "descente aux enfers" simply spoiled the whole night. I saw Sting performing a plain tune, so ridiculous looking... And poor French people singing along the Chorus... Oh, I nearly fainted.

How can you enjoy Sting and Police?.. I never heard such a WEAK voice and translucid music... So so so mainstream! His singing is even weaker than McCartney's voice on "Get back"...
It is for me a big mystery that sort of annoys me...

Please help me to resolve my problems.
Thanks

Well I hope you spanked it! I'm not a believer of spanking children, but when it's as naughty as Sting's face.........

Very talented dude. There's a video of "If I ever lose my faith" where he's in the studio with his band rehearsing the song and at the end they just go into some impromptu jazz jam. Good stuff.

I generally find Sting boring, but the Police had a few decent songs.

I was all out of luck, like a duck that died. I was all out of juice, like a moose denied.

a few good songs by Police, but the only real good thing the man has done in his whole career is his role in Dune

What were you doing at a party where they show teevee in the first place?

I never got to see the Police but I was lucky enough to see Sting. Tracy Champman opened. IT was a super cool concert. My fave song was Devil On Burbon Street ( I hope that's the right name)... it was a full moon and so cool. Then there was fortress around your heart... such a cool song too... I just remember dancing the whole show... it was that good!

My father met him once. Doing some anti-ecological things along with Tom Hanks.

Now trust in him.
