Animal Lover is fantastic. What other band is there that has released 2 amazing albums within 33 years of each other? Most bands jump the shark after about 8 years and NEVER return. Then again, I haven't heard Love And Theft, but I said 'band' and meant it. |

Posted - 08/13/2005 : 07:35:30 I tried to get into the Residents, but I never did. I've been told that the albums I've heard are some of their weaker ones, though, so that could have something to do with it.

Posted - 07/17/2005 : 13:38:46 I still haven't heard God in Three Persons, so I can't back ObfusacateByWill's assertion up with a "yeah, that album is awesome!!!", but I do know that allmusic gave it 5 out of 5 stars and that is not a rating they give out generously.
Sir Rock, I'd start with downloading the song "six things to a cycle" of Fingerprince. the last 7 minutes of that song are incredible. If you like that, you should probably get Meet The Residents. |

Incredible. The only one of their albums to really grab me.

Posted - 07/17/2005 : 11:15:25 So I'm reading some reviews, and I see what you mean by the "what the hell kind of music is this". Which album do you suggest I begin with? A comp (like "Our Tired, Our Poor, Our Huddled Masses") or an actual album?
You run all kinds of red lights except the ones on the street. When you run out of exits you can always count sheep. |

Posted - 07/17/2005 : 10:36:52 Ha! That's an impossible question. Even when you're listening to them, you wonder "what the hell kind of music is this?"
I'm sure http://www.rzweb.net can give you an answer far superior to anything I could muster. |
