If you could load it with 10 albums, what would they be?

For me:

Radiohead - OK Computer
Radiohead - The Bends
Radiohead - Kid A
Pixies - Doolittle
Pixies - Surfer Rosa
FB&tC - Black Letter Days
Sufjan Stevens - Illinois
Sufjan Stevens - Seven Swans
The Beatles - White Album
Yo La Tengo - And Then Nothing Turned Itself Inside-Out

All my faves and the Yo La Tengo is great to fall asleep to (maybe I should change it to Sigur Ros).

Unless you're talkin' solar-power. Or maybe a little handle crankin' device. Or maybe hydro-fuel. Or fueled my stupidity.

Maybe the Professor will build a generator out of coconuts.

Anyway, I'd say my choices would be:

1. XTC - Skylarking
2. They Might Be Giants - Apollo 18
3. Pixies - Bossanova
4. Frank Black - Teenager of the Year
5. Dukes of Stratosphear - Psonic Psunspot (or Chips from the Chocolate Fireball, if it's allowed)
6. The Magnetic Fields - 69 Love Songs (Hey, it IS all one album! {g})
7. Young Fresh Fellows - This One's for the Ladies
8. Camper Van Beethoven - self-titled
9. Cracker - Forever
10. Tom Lehrer - That Was the Year That Was

I was all out of luck, like a duck that died. I was all out of juice, like a moose denied.

no records at all, i would become stranded on a desert island man and live with it.
MissMaceo Posted - 07/12/2005 : 15:15:43
1. Pixies - Doolittle
2. Bob Dylan - Live 1964, disc two (with The Band backing, first electric show, shout of 'Judas' heard in crowd)
3. REM-Automatic for the People
4. The Jayhawks - Rainy Day Music
5. Pink Floyd - Meddle
6. Indigo Girls - 1200 Curfews, the disc that starts with Joking
7. Afghan Whigs - Congregation
8. CSNY - Deja Vu
9. Grateful Dead - American Beauty
10. Pearl Jam - No Code

Those who find themselves ridiculous, sit down next to me.

Good! Most of you all have some good taste... We could spend a few weeks on a desert island all together... I suggest Corsica!

Oh, by da way... No Radiohead albums allowed...

Sure is, buddy. But that's OK. I'm going to cheat and change my mind again. No more sleeping to Yo La Tengo. Kid A is all I need. I must have SMiLE on my list. Creating a list this difficult directly after waking up makes one forgetful.

Frank Black - Teenager of the Year

Bowie: David Bowie (to remind me of London in a time I only knew in my dreams...)

Marc Almond: Mother Fist and Her Five Daughters (when your alone you have to remember your hand...)

Bryan Ferry: As Time Goes By (to remember the lounge and comfortable places)

Frank Black: Teenager of the Year(s) (to remind me of Pop Music)

Scott Walker sings Jacques Brel: (I'd rather go for this less depressing period!)

Pere Ubu: Worlds in Collision (A bit of funny vibes...)

Brahms: Eine Deutsche Requiem (Before I sacrifice myself)

Depeche Mode: Music for the Masses (to keep good memories of the 80's)

Velvet Underground: White Light/White Heat (for Sister Ray)

hWolsky: Angels Go Home (the next big thing.. to come.. one day)

The art of recycling common thread!

I like you choice, Bill. I'd pick Low instead of Lodger though...
