No, not sexual ones, rather things that you plain old dislike.

Mine include pop soda, sharks, snakes, bread, rudeness, people who are perpetually late and, my biggest turn off by far, nearly all TV programming.

You?

people who have their own little codes that no one else can crack and then get all pissed of when someone gets all overly friendly and tries to act like they know the little code and get all chummy and shit while you're all drunk with an old friend.

gah!
hate that.

forealtho,

mildly autistic theatre majors that have no real personality other than the movies they've seen and the music they've heard...which they have committed every last millisecond of to permanant memory and can and do quote ad nauseum whenever the absolute slightest bit of attention is paid to them.

people who play golf.

people telling me to "lay off the moonshine".

the fucking B string never being perfect.

remembering most of the things i say.

people sho use cocaine and say its "fucking awesome".

being a jackass...yes, me.

feeling like i need to impress someone.

I just honestly want to know, because I think I understand what you're getting at...and I think I sometimes might come off that way to people. Though usually I'm just trying to break down what I perceive as "bullshit" societal barriers and just be friendly and establish rapport off the bat. But I'd like you to clarify, because if my tendencies could be seen as annoying or overbearing, I'll definitely consider curbing them from now on!

No need to apologize, Alex.

I have given this some thought and determined that it's an attitude thing.

It's not about being overbearing or annoying. What makes me uncomfortable is the assumption that a stranger and I suddenly share an established history, like they know the inside joke or something. Maybe they're trying too hard to fit in?

The other day my best guy friend and I were, OK, getting sloppy drunk and his neighbor meandered over and started talking to us, which was fine. But then the neighbor was trying to be "in the know" with certain things. Meanwhile, we've been best friends since 1986, we have our own language, our weird code that no one on the planet can crack, don't try to join us. That probably sounds snotty. Sorry. Again, hard to put into words.

I doubt you are obnoxious like that.

Haha, ok, I see what you mean. No, I'm a little more sensible/tactful than that...phew, glad we cleared that up!

Can you clarify what constitutes acting "overly familiar"? Just curious...

I feel funny explaining this. It makes me so uncomfortable. Um, like when people you hardly know act overly familiar. I don't mean overly friendly or sexual, I mean overly familiar. I'm probably making no sense. I get uncomfortable even trying to describe it. Sorry. I'll think of an example.

I am shocked at how some parents allow their pre-teen daughters to dress - most recently some of the pint-sized Weezer fans at last night's Weezer/Pixies show. Not even grown women should dress like that, nevermind little girls.

foods: celery, sardines, anchovies
people: racists, homophobs, sexists, people who's belief systems are based on fear and hatred
fashion: sideways hats, baseball caps where the brim is kept unbent and with the sticker still on it (HUGE in the US right now), anarchy shirts bought in malls, teenagers wearing tshirts of bands they've never heard but think they should like (the smiths, ramones, dead kennedys and black flag are the biggest culprits), girls who dress like they're actively trying to get fucked on the spot

Possibly. Minus several, several pounds, since I've been losing weight. And my hair is really thick, so even if my head is shaved, you can still tell it's under there.

some specific bad grammar all involving pronouns:

using a nominative pronoun when an objective pronoun is needed (i.e. between you and I). I don't mind the reverse (i.e. Scruvs and me saw the pixies).

improper use of reflexive pronouns (i.e. I'm good. How about yourself?)

spelling, capitalization, and punctuation dont bother me, but i do think we should drop the apostrophe in contractions. itll save time.

mean snotty cliquey people.

people who yell mean things.

puppy kickers and domestic/child abusers.

petty theifs that are just after a thrill.

people who beg for $$ when the can just as well work.

people who come to this country in their retired years to milk the system and end up with an apartament in the salvation army with a much better view and location than ours...which is kind of mean and snotty of me. lol

If I could I'd post that picture of my toes again. Instead, I'll quote Whitney Houston by way of Dolly Parton and say,
"I will always love you."

UB40 (good one llama)

For me: toe nail polish, tube tops, tandem bikes, people who clip their nails in public, people who talk loudly in public about the plots of movies, people who are always late (stealing one from Kathryn)

I'm turned of by girls who act slutty. I had a girlfriend who though acting slutty (dancing slutty) would make me attracted to her. Useless to say that it was all the opposite, sadly for the two of us.
