I found mine recently. It was like discovering a forgotten childhood toy.
(I waited a month till I posted next, to wish Scott Boutier a happy father's day.)

How 'bout you?

I really don't remember, but it was something in the General Chat section, I'm sure. I don't know how long I was subscribed to the forum before posting anything, but I know I signed up for it pretty much when it started, but it was a year or so before I started posting regularly. I think the first thread I created might have been in the Pixies section, asking about the additional lyrics to the demo version of "Brick Is Red," but I could be wrong.

Great topic!

Yeah...I remember my first post. <cringe> Waited forever to post, and when I did...I couldn't get all the words out. It was like speaking infront of the class when you are the new kid.

May I confess something, kitten?

I'm considering starting a thread called "Do you remember the first time another forum
member acknowledged your existence?"

I believe it was Denis helping me with some coding?
Or Tre offering me tips on which clothes minimize cleavage?

Or maybe it was Denis helping me with cleavage?

Went to the first london gig... Hate london... Had my purse stolen, got punched by a drunk and mugged by a tramp.

But I swear not a minute of that mattered when the man himself opened his mouth and harmonised, drawled and wailed like a wild cat.

Was pretty damned pleasing on the eyes too.

I remember you joining. You livened things up a bit because you seemed different to anyone else who had been before. I remember we had a few light-hearted debates from the off (at least one about zombies). Never looked back since eh?

I lurked for six months so I could figure out who was who.

I mistook Whore for a woman and kept confusing "her" with GypsyDeath. I couldn't tell Homers and Cheesey apart (they melded into one random English dude). I thought Tre was the longest-posting member, though she was newer than me. For some wacky reason I thought Carolyn and Speedy were brother and sister. Oh and I thought Denis was English.

I'm pretty sure this was my first post.
I lurked for about 6 months beforehand and seem to be continuing to do so now, according to my post count.

Do you ever read signatures thinking they're part of an actual post?
I find it really annoying

took me a few posts to realise it was you, after i thought i'd offended you

so what you think of honeycomb now? (remember that?)

Hey all

I thought it would be rude to jump on your threads before introducing myself, so here I am, my first post. Please do not be fooled. My lack of posts in no way reflects my Frank Black obsession. Just you gotta start somewhere right?

Hope all is swell in FB land today, can't wait to share the passion.

see you around

I remember my first post. I lurked for about 6 months before that. I don't remember what I said but I know LBF yelled at me for asking a stupid question.

[edit] PS: He was right, I know that now.

The earliest one I can find was this:

It's a hard one, but Superabound always does it for me. Wasn't too keen on it at first but it just gives me goosebumps every time now.

in response to a favourite Frank Black song thread. Earth shattering, huh? I lurked for about a year before I even posted that.

Definitely Sir Rock, he's quite the little crackhead.

And yeah, I got it to FB. No feedback though!

I remember mine very well. I was sitting here watching game 5 or 6 of the playoffs, thinking to myself 'I wish I could find a cool message board that has a little older crowd and is a little more quickly paced than the one I usually go to.'
I goggled 'frank black forum' and here I am.
I wanted to get a feel fr the tone of the forums and came to the general chat to check it out and found a thread about the playoffs, or NBA, right away.
And so I posted right away, no lurking.
IceCream Posted - 07/03/2005 : 17:04:35
my first post was in the "worst Pixies song ever". I said I couldn't believe anyone said "All Over The World". I think I didn't lurk at all.

Actually, on 2nd thought, I remember seeing one thread in February of 2003 before I started posting (in May of 2003).

I think my first post was in a concert review just after I saw the Catholics at the Black Cat in DC a few years back.

I don't remember my first post. The oldest post I can find was my very lame and ignored Craig Wedren EP thread.

I joined just after the site was launched.

Saw Dave Noisy asking questions on the AbstractPlain mailing list.

It was sad to see the AP kinda shrivel up. Met some very cool and very generous folks there.
