I love SP, specially the siamese dream era.

They should reunite and play ONLY material from Gish, Siamese, and Pisces.
Kind of like the Pixies are doing...
Best description of Corgan I heard: "slaphead dictatorial egomaniac"
It's what I aspire to.

Posted - 06/22/2005 : 09:15:30 For as much as the Pumpkins helped mold my mind musically when I was a teenager, I have had to accept in more recent years that Billy Corgan is a pathetic whiny jackhole. In the eyes of the jackhole, I say KA-BOOM!

Posted - 06/22/2005 : 09:03:11 They should reunite and play ONLY material from Gish, Siamese, and Pisces. With spatterings of Mellon Collie (i.e. the songs that should have been on the ONE cd of that album)... That would be something special. I only like the Pumpkins prior to Billy Corgan's Nosferatu-industrial-freakazoid transformation. |

Who'll be the drummer?

Posted - 06/21/2005 : 19:30:11 They haven't even been broken up for a very long time. A reunion really wouldn't be that special. Now, i'm excited about the Pink Floyd reunion because it's the first time they'll play together in 24 years. Do you get what I'm saying? |

Posted - 06/21/2005 : 16:15:11 Yeah, Adore is actually probably a very good album, as is Machina I'll bet, and I've listened to both many times, but it's really hard for me to tell that they're anything special. Billy Corgan spoke mostly to the me in my mid-teens. Both Adore and Machina came out when I was a little older, and by then, I just wasn't feeling it as much. I still put in Siamese Dream or Mellon Collie from time to time and crank it up. I like some of the material on Gish, but it never struck me as consistent as their other records. I know a lot of people think Gish is their best. It just doesn't move me as much.

I whole-heartedly agree, Cheese. I think it to be quite brilliant and very moving. Completely haunting even.

Posted - 06/21/2005 : 14:56:00 Yeah I'd go along with that. If Melancholy would have been filtered down to half the amount of songs (the better half) then it would have been even better than Siamese Dream.

Amen to that, though my true SP affection is limited to the first two albums and maybe half of Melancholy.

Posted - 06/21/2005 : 13:28:04 I liked SP, but it always seemed like Billy Corgan plus some bandmates. So him being solo vs. him being with SP does seem that different to me. |
