The rest don't really matter... |

OK, I didn't really throw it across the room. I ejected it but put it back into the case. I've only done that once, throwing a cassette of some French singer in the middle of the street and watching it die smashed by a car. It felt so good. But really, it sucks! Or at least the first 30 seconds do. Have you heard it?

I bought a Gary Numan "Greatest Hits" cd with my friend Jason, for the simple pleasure of putting it on in his car, laughing and jeering while listening to the utter crappiness of it, then smashing the case against his dashboard and tossing the CD out the window. Worst 15 dollars I've ever spent.
Chicken- thx for the suggestion! I'll pick it up very soon |

Buzzcocks are pretty good - Ever Fallen In Love is one of the greatest singles ever. Similar sort of vein to Undertones, kinda.

No, I have not heard that last album. The one you threw away.

OK I'll spit it. I tried, I tried real hard to like the Buzzcocks. They're mentioned so many times in Pixies articles. They're punk and I love punk. I bought Love Bites. And I don't really love them. There are some great songs on it (Ever Fallen In Love is really cool) but some are just so-so and some (Operator's Manual) are simply unlistenable. I listened to it a lot (well, at least 5 times), thinking it was a grower, but it never grabbed my attention. Oh, and I also bought their 2003 record (I think it's self-titled) and I ejected it and threw it across the romm after 30 seconds. The Buzzcocks are one of my biggest musical disappointments.

Dearest Denis I can't have my secret forum crush be a guy who threw a Buzzcocks record across the room. I am sorry. It's been fun. We'll always have Paris. Kiki

Well if you like Ever fallen in love you'll probably like most of the songs off Singles going steady, especially the first ones like Orgasm addict, What do I get?, I don't mind, Love you more and Harmony in my head.
These songs are classic
I agree with you about the newer stuff. The albums they made before they split up are much better than the new ones.

Start with Singles going steady
it's a semi-compilation album, and it's brilliant.
You'll soon find out why Frank Black is a fan, why K.C. wanted them to support Nirvana on a tour, why Eddy Vedder begged to be their roadie, and why Dave Grohl wore a Buzzcocks shirt on the MTV Video Music Awards

I've seen them three times. At the first gig I took pictures of the band. At the second gig I went backstage, offered them the pictures and asked if they could play my favourite song Autonomy. And they did! I talked with both Pete and Steve, and they're really nice guys.
The third gig was on Steve's birthday, which made them decide to play all of the old classics.
And they're still alive, new album due to come out this autumn
