Posted - 06/16/2005 : 18:21:21 if i had the land? sure a yak would be welcome, i think they are classic beasts as far as the whole animal and person relationship goes. i can't imagine how i would talk to a yak but "black harvest moon" would blare from the farmhouse at dawn i can tell you that.
i blew the lyrics there on that one huh? and you were all to nice to call me on it.
"WHITE NOISE MAKER" is a great song, and Frank name drops "the YAK" in it. |

Posted - 06/16/2005 : 17:26:56 i'm sure, i've seen it, down the street from where i grew up. thats why the "cat lady" hits home, i guess when you can relate to someone elses interpretation and you realise there are people like this all over it helps resolve the feeling thats its just happening on your one messed up block. |

Posted - 06/16/2005 : 16:49:06 I once spent time in the house of a woman who'd just died and she had 76 cats and the authorities were trying to round them up and figure out what to do and the place was a fucking wreck. Really disgusting. A cliche for sure and a scary one, too.

Posted - 06/16/2005 : 15:53:45 my favorite take on cats and humans is the "Cat Lady" from The SIMPSONS, she has so many extra cats she can afford to throw them at you. i think the book and animated movie Watershipdown had a big influence on me as far as how i relate to animals, and the cat in that tale was nasty, hence all cats i come across are nasty (in a good way). |

Posted - 06/16/2005 : 13:52:23 I can't walk past a cat (and most dogs, but since they tend to be accompanied by humans, I don't that often) without greeting it. All the regular cats in my neighbourhood have names that I've given them.
I'm going to end up as the old crazy lady with all the cats aren't I? |

Posted - 06/16/2005 : 06:43:52 I believe I can speak to cat's with my mind. It's a little weird...But when I attempt to connect with them on a telepathic stream, their ears twitch back and forth, as if they were hearing something.

Posted - 06/15/2005 : 00:47:54 I talk to/at my cats all the time - maybe it's a sign that I spend too much time alone with them, but it's a family trait, so hardly a new thing. Apart from that they miaow back at me when I talk to them so it's not a one sided conversation in the slightest. My last cat, Cow used to follow me to the corner shop and to the railway station in the morning and used to freak out if I stopped talking to him along the way.
(To clarify the freaking out bit - he'd sit down and miaow like he was dying or in great pain). |
