I am not sure if this has been posted before, but what the heck....

So imagine you can hand select every member of a band. Who would you pick? Here's one I came up with (FBTC and Pixies excluded to make it harder).

Lead Vocals: Chris Cornell
Lead Guitar: Joe Perry
Bass: Flea
Drums: Dave Grohl
Rhythm Guitar and Back-up Vocals: (cause even unknowns need a shot)
Paul Samarin of the Pink Floyd Tribute band "Which One's Pink"

Lead vocals:Morrissey
Lead guitar:Jonny Greenwood (Radiohead)
Rhythm guitar (+vocals):Jack White
3rd Guitar (just in case):Johnny Marr
Bass:Fat Mike (NOFX)
Drums:Dave Grohl
Backing vocals + dancers:Adam Green, Kimya Dawson, Har Mar Superstar!

They'd be called THE FLABBERGASTERS!

I said "I wanna be a singer like Lou Reed"
"I like Lou Reed" she said sticking her tongue in my ear

I guess Neko could be my drummer. Still not sure about the bassist, though. I'd probably use Kim Deal, if it's allowed under the rules. As long as she sings as well as plays. If not, well, I guess I'd choose Colin Moulding, although that might be a bit too much XTC for one band (other than XTC itself, that is).

I was all out of luck, like a duck that died. I was all out of juice, like a moose denied.

An accordian is a keyboard instrument (sort of), so he'd play that on occasion

Actually, Mosleyk just said SHE was going to exclude Frank-related bands, not that everyone had to.

I would also want Andy Partridge on rhythm guitar and vocals, Jonathan Segel (Camper Van Beethoven) on violin, Kurt Bloch (Fastbacks, Young Fresh Fellows, Sgt. Major) on lead guitar, and...hmm...not sure about bass and drums.
