Posted - 05/30/2005 : 07:07:42 Me being the music uncultured dummy that I am, I'm turnig to you guys for some help. Every time I listen to the Tom Waits' song, "Alice", I think I would love to hear that kind of music more often. You know, that type of music, Jazz-y, but with a little bit of blues in it? I don't really know how to describe what I'm thinking of, but I can offer you some more examples of what I'm looking for: Nina Simone's "Wild is the Wind" is a great example. Also, the main theme from Twin Peaks, with that clarinet (?) sound that gives it a melancolic feel to it... So, any clue to what I'm talking about? Is there anyone out there doing this type of stuff? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. |
