Posted - 05/23/2005 : 15:04:27 I've never really understood why God should favor the United States in particular. Can't these people keep their jingoism and religious fundamentalism separate?
quote: "All the Bible verses in this edition of The Presidential Prayer Team for Kids Update are from The New Living Translation of the Bible." americans are fucking weird. and WTF is a living translation? and why the hell there is a new and an old one?
Well, see, the Old Living Translation is now dead.
I'm sure the Greeks aren't free from updated translations. Or is every Bible there written in Biblical Greek?

Posted - 05/23/2005 : 13:03:25 Around in my area...the stickers are in the shape of a ribbon. You know like the red ribbons for AIDS awareness. Around here there are yellow ribbon bumper stickers with "support our troopes" and red/white/blue ones with "god bless the USA"
I swear....on my drive to work....I would say one in every 3-4 have one. |

President Bush has reminded us to pray for peace this Memorial Day—that's always a good thing to do, but especially this week as there are people who are living with danger and unrest.
This has got to be the sickest, most ironic thing I've ever seen. George Bush wants us to pray for peace! Right, good luck with world peace while you're running the country!

Posted - 05/23/2005 : 12:10:12 People try to retranslate the Bible to make it more accessible, as opposed to the 'definitive' 1611 version. There's absolutely loads of slightly different versions out there. As far as I know, the New Living Translation is kind of hippyish.

2) "May 20, Greek Prime Minister Kostas Karamanlis and Denmark's Prime Minister Anders Fogh Rasmussen" what greece did to the US in order to merit a prime minister like this and a mention in this site?
3) "All the Bible verses in this edition of The Presidential Prayer Team for Kids Update are from The New Living Translation of the Bible." americans are fucking weird. and WTF is a living translation? and why the hell there is a new and an old one? and why americans must pimp their bible?

Pray that every person who bravely serves America through the military will know the appreciation of the nation. Pray for their families—especially their kids—as they have had to get along without their mom or dad or other family member. Ask God to protect all the great people serving the country in this way, that they will do their jobs well and experience the peace and love of God wherever they are, especially when they are degrading prisoners by pissing on them."

In your spiritual life, it means that you put aside the feeling that you should dbe the boss of your life and tell God that you'd like Him to be the boss. It means that you accept His way of doing things, even though it might feel a little uncomfortable or difficult at first." -on the homepage. Y is for Yikes, Yuck.
