When was Corsica separated from France?

Half-Ireland is part of the Great Britain isn't it. Wilde spent most of his time in England where he was considered as local writer and poseur. Then he is British.

I was born in Corsica but I left that backwater to move to France. I live my life here now. Then I am French... and by extention British as I am waiting for our Lord's Coronation....

Honi soit qui mal y pense...

Oscar Wilde is Irish, not British. Dorian Gray is a great read; well recommended.

I think animal testing is a terrible idea; they get all nervous and give the wrong answers.

My sig more often than not an Oscar quote

Experience is the name everyone gives to their mistakes.

I thought it was cringe worthy. Very unfunny.

I have a soft spot for the Monty Python pisstake. "Your Majesty is like a stream of bat's piss."

I work around the corner from the house he was rared in. Haven't read any of his stuff, but a chap I used to work with was a big fan, and would kneel and worship the place any time we were on the piss and passed by it.
Some of his quotes are very good alright.

Sorry but I don't believe you. The plays I have seen have been awful.

That's not hard to believe. I've rarely seen his plays performed with any competent actors. But on their own, they're wonderfully written plays. I haven't read much of his non-theatrical material, but I'm thinking I should. He has a wit that is sadly missing at this point in time.

Forget the plays - read his childrens stories.

Wilde was not as witty as Whistler or Shaw.

Well I only read Dorian Gray but I really liked it (except from the chapter about carpets and curtains).
