I don't know if there's a lot of SY fans here, but I'm wondering which album you prefer

I never thought albums like Murray Street or Sonic Nurse would get so much votes. I'm amazed.
I'm amazed too because there's not a lot of votes for Daydream Nation and Evol that are the ones I prefer with Sister and Experimental...

I've lost interest in the band lately. Even though Murray Street and Sonic Nurse are pretty good SY albums I don't listen to them

They've actually made very few albums that are good (or even bearable (sic)) the whole way through

Best: Sister, Goo, A Thousand Leaves (Lee and Thurston tracks only), Daydream Nation, Experimental Jet Set Trash and No Star, Evol

Goo! its gorgeous

I'm with Velvety. I used to be a pretty big Sonic Youth fan, collecting bootleg CDs and all, but I never got into DDN. I even have it on both CD and vinyl and never listen to it.

80's: Sister; Bad Moon Rising; Confusion is Sex
90's: Experimental Jet Set, Trash & No Star; Goo
00's: NYC Ghosts & Flowers; Sonic Nurse

Sister. Then Washing Machine. Then Goo.
Daydream Nation is overated. The trilogy is nothing special, and there are a couple of songs in there that don't go nowhere.
'Cross the breeze' is fantastic, though.

Dirty; Evol; Goo; Sonic Nurse; Bad Moon Rising; Sister; Washing Machine; Daydream Nation (not as big a fan of this one as most, it seems); Confusion Is Sex...

In that order.

Goo, followed by Dirty, Daydream Nation and Washing Machine.

I used to like Sonic Youth a lot, but now I don't really care for them all that much, though I do listen to Murry Street pretty often, which I'd have to say is probably my favorite. Obviously either Daydream Nation or Dirty would be the classic album to go with, but I don't really care for that sound, though Daydream Nation has some good songs on it.

I don't think there is one form the ones I own. I still haven't heard them all yet though.

Daydream Nation, indeed.

Daydream Nation. I listened to that album non-stop for a complete summer of riding. I had it recorded on side A while the Beatie Boys Ill-Communication on the other. A great summer of listening pleasure.
