Today is Friday the 13th. Does that weird you out?
Are you superstitious about anything?

I'm not and I think it's silly how American skyscrapers
go from a floor called the 12th floor to a floor called
the 14th floor. Silly.

I still believe in the excellent joy of the Catholics

I'd be kind of interested in the statistics as to how many American skyscrapers skip the thirteenth floor. Was it just something that was done during one specific period of time?

I was all out of luck, like a duck that died. I was all out of juice, like a moose denied.

Cut from the same neurotic cloth, eh?

and i never knew that american skyscrapers don't claim a 13th floor. that IS silly.

There was great thread some time ago (maybe a year ago) where many people posted their little ticks. Basically we're all kind of nuts. My thing is similiar to yours, but I sum up the values of the letters (like a=1, b=2,...) and then see if the letters can be divided into 2 equal groups. The best words are ones that don't require any rearranging (such as "man").

i had a theory that bad things mostly came as suprises, so if i thought about each possible negative before hand
the suprise would be disabled so to speak thus no problem.
this theory is nolonger is in practice it is flawed.

I just had a moment
I was waiting for the page to load...I'm watching Grosse Pointe Blank for the bazillionth time and I was realizing that I am enjoying myself here tonight and then gone to heaven came on in that part of the movie and it was like everything was just right for a moment there...

my favorite part of this is I Dare Not Stop.
Indeed.
Love It!

you know, not nearly as much as you'd think.
i have been doing this since i was very young so it's second nature now to automatically group the letters in words/phrases into two's and three's and then just multiply

like this mis sma ceo
so 3 three's are nine but the sum isn't the point, it's that three goes into it three times

:)

the whole 'bread-and-butter' thing when i'm walking with someone and we have to split around some inanimate object...have NO idea why. prob. looney tunes or something.
Surfer Rosa Posted - 06/30/2005 : 13:50:42
I'm developing music related superstitions. This is probably a sign.
MissMaceo Posted - 06/30/2005 : 11:37:56
if i wake up and it's 4:44 or 3:33, etc. it freaks me out
I prefer not to step on cracks.
i think that it's better to be 11:33 than 11:32 because i like times that are divisble.
i think that if i put a big jug of water on the bottom of my grocery cart and the checker doesn't see it, something bad will happen to me, such as the water makes me ill, i will lose all my money because i 'stole' even if by accident.

if i use an excuse that isn't true 'sick family member' i believe that someone dear to me will grow ill
VoVat Posted - 05/14/2005 : 09:25:27
I always knock on wood when I spill salt on a graveyard.

Surfer Rosa Posted - 05/13/2005 : 14:48:39
They've won pitches, got people jobs and got me lucky.

At work we have a lucky portfolio and a lucky betting pencil (I work with a couple of compulsive gamblers)

Surfer Rosa Posted - 05/13/2005 : 14:16:07
Shouldn't that have been 616?

I'm superstitious about gigs. Always wear the same jewellery - with lucky ribbon tied around my right wrist.
I have lucky panties.
I do the pinch of salt thing over my left shoulder.
I carry a lucky plectrum.
Always bet on the same horse but never through my own account.

The list could go on, but I'll stop there since it's starting to make me sound slightly oc.
