I'm not in love - Talking Heads (more songs about buildings and food)

I told her: "this album is great, have a ear at this song in particular..."

My, my, my... I was heartless and cruel at this time...

... Now I Sing "Stupid Me" when I think of her.

Anyway, may God forgive me.

"I'll be your mirror" is my anthem now and, I think, the one of a very special friend of mine.

I can think of a certain high school "sweetheart" where this song was definitely "ours".

ONE MORE MINUTE
----------------
Weird Al Yankovic

Well I heard that your leavin'
Gonna leave me far behind
'cause you found a brand new lover
You decided that I'm not your kind

So I pulled your name out of my Rolodex
And I tore all your pictures in two
And I burned down the malt shop where we used to go
Just because it reminds me of you

That's right, you ain't gonna see me cryin'
I'm glad that you found somebody new
'cause I'd rather spend eternity
Eating shards of broken glass
Than spend one more minute with you

I guess I might seem kind of bitter
You've got me feeling down in the dumps
'cause I'm stranded all alone at the gas station of love
And I have to use the self service pumps!

Oh so, honey, let me help you with that suitcase
You ain't gonna break my heart in two
'cause I'd rather get a hundred thousand paper cuts on my face
Then spend one more minute with you

I'd rather rip out my intestines with a fork
Then watch you going out with other men
I'd rather slam my fingers in a door
Again and again and again and again and again
(Oh can't you see what I'm trying to tell ya darling)

I'd rather have my blood sucked out by leeches
Shove an icepick under a toenail or two
I'd rather clean all the bathrooms
in Grand Central Station...with my tongue
Then spend one more minute with you

I'd rather rip my heart right outta my ribcage
With my bare hands and then throw it on the floor
And stomp on it till I die!!!!
(GASP!)
Then spend... one more minute... with you

Jealousy by Natalie Merchant - reminds me of ice skating with my ex-wife's daughter outside at Christmas when she was like 6 years old.

R.E.M. Life's Rich Pageant cd - reminds me of partying my a** off with high school friends while listening.

Elvis, and especially Suspicious Minds, reminds me of my ex. That was somehow our song.

I tend to think of human beings as huge rubbery test tubes, too, with chemical reactions seething inside

the wife and I never had a song, but every time a stupid 80s rock ballad starts playing, we'll both stare into each others eyes and claim it...as if it were THE song of our crazy-love years.

Weezer's "Surf Wax America" reminds me of a friend of mine who surfs all the time and pretty much never works or does anything, while i'm out working and earning a living etc..

in the line "you take your car to work, i'll take my board," i'm the one taking my car to work

I sang TMBG's "It's Not My Birthday" on my now-girlfriend's Excite voicemail back on the first of her birthdays that I knew her. I guess that's kind of "our" song.

I was all out of luck, like a duck that died. I was all out of juice, like a moose denied.

Too many girls or too many songs, Mike? Eh? Eh?!

Andrew Bird - Weather Systems (Album) / Lady friend of now.

Incidently, I went to see Andrew Bird last Thursday and if he stops by at your town, I REALLY recommend you go and see him. He is, as they say, "incredibly good."
