If it does not work on your player just download DivX (from www.divx.com), it definetly works on that.
PS, you didn't get this from me.

Posted - 05/09/2005 : 17:54:36 I thought last night's Simpsons episodes were a big improvement over last week's. Of course, American Idol is kind of a guilty pleasure of mine, and I always like it when the show does religion jokes, so that might have helped. Family Guy was better last week, but it was still good. I have noticed that Quagmire, Cleveland, and Joe haven't had any significant parts yet this season, though.

Posted - 05/08/2005 : 23:54:44 Hey, I'm not arguing against Family Guy, I love the show and was like one of the first to sign that massive internet petition to get it back on the air and to download the shows (of course I have the DVDs now). Just saying you need to watch Futurama again.
Incidentally, just watched The Simpsons where they do the American Idol thing and it was hilarious. As was the new Family Guy. Though wrong for so many reasons.

Posted - 05/08/2005 : 10:06:45 Yeah, Futurama's a little more subtle with it's humour, but it's there and quite hilarious at times, I assure you.

Posted - 05/08/2005 : 09:20:16 Well, there are more immediate laughs from Family Guy, anyway. I'm not sure which is funnier overall.
I find myself quoting jokes from Futurama pretty often, but a lot of the time they just end up confusing people.
Really, I don't have a desire to pit Futurama and Family Guy against each other. They're both genuinely funny and clever animated shows that got the shaft from Fox. I'm just glad one of them is back, even if it's my less favorite of the two.

Anyway, it's quite possible that I laugh more at the average Family Guy episode, so that's a major point in its favor. I think Futurama is just a better-crafted show overall, though.

The first new episode was hilarious. That Pinocchio bit was so wrong but funny as hell. I love it.

Posted - 05/06/2005 : 11:03:40 Yeah I have probably only watched about 5 episodes. However, if I took 5 random Family Guy, South Park or Simpsons episodes, I would be a lot more impressed so I am not sure I need to give them more of a chance.

Posted - 05/06/2005 : 10:24:15 I used to say that Mike, but my friend lent me his season 4 of it and I watched just to give it a fair shake, and I bought all four seasons within a couple weeks. It really is a different kind of humour than Family Guy, but quite funny and intelligent too. I would take a season 5 of Futurama over 20 American Dads. I'd probably still pick Family Guy over Futurama, but it's still tough.

Posted - 05/05/2005 : 18:32:47 I watched it again today. Very very funny stuff. Family Guy hasn't lost anything, as far as I'm concerned. Although, last fall I wrote a script for a variety show that I never intended to have performed, titled Passion Of The Christ II: Wrists Of Fury, and it was very similar to the version in Family Guy. I think they owe me royalties. |

Posted - 05/05/2005 : 18:29:32 Yeah, Futurama got the shaft. Really, if it were up to me, I would have saved that over Family Guy. I like Family Guy, though, so I'm glad at least one actually funny animated series is back.

Posted - 05/05/2005 : 18:14:18 American Dad really does seem horrible. Hopefully it won't last. The only bit I laughed at was Donald Trump coming in to try to get paid when the Dad said things about people being fired. Just the fact that American Dad is around and Futurama is gone is highly upsetting.

Posted - 05/04/2005 : 12:21:57 The first one (that they showed after the superbowl) had some pretty funny moments. That whole setup in the mall with the fake purse snatching and then the CIA dad completely taking it seriously and parting crowds on the escalator and somersaulting out a second story window to land in a crouch on the roof of a car. The phone call from God to Bush.
Another gag they riffed on on this new American Dad was the Simpsons where the person in the car is having a mental monologue (Marge) which in reality turns out to be someone in the car with them saying it out loud (Homer - "We'll always be together... together... together")

Anyway, my favorite bits included Stewie reading the Garfield book out loud, the British porn, the G.I. Joe parody, and the beginning gag listing all the cancelled Fox shows. I thought the Passion of the Christ 2 preview was pretty damned similar to Gandhi 2 from UHF, but oh well. I'm glad to find the show hasn't lost it after being off the air for so long.
I thought the two Simpsons episodes last night were somewhat below par for this season, which has been surprisingly good overall. I did enjoy Stephen Hawking's role in the first one, though.
American Dad just doesn't do it for me. Seth MacFarlane should concentrate on Family Guy, now that it's back on the air.

Yeah, it really is a damnably funny episode.
I watched the new Simpsons & American Dad shows too. The Simpsons was good but not funny, if that makes sense. American Dad was neither in my opinion, but we'll see. I remember feeling a deep sense of "hey! they stole that from ...". The wife becoming a realtor ala Marge Simpson. Something from another show stolen too, blatantly, but I don't know what.
I'm hopin' the show picks up. It'd be great to have two completely different but hilarious shows from the brain of Seth MacFarlane.
