OK, so I'm trying to lose some weight. Any hints/tips?
I think I have a reasonably healthy diet, and I cook most of my own meals (no processed junk). I've just started back on the salads to accompany meals, plus I'm trying to eat more fruit (it's a bit more easy now the sun's out).
When ever I possibly can, I get off the train a stop early and walk to work (15-20 mins brisk walk, once or twice a day), and I'm also trying out sit-ups. I don't like these.

Suggestions, anyone?

Congrats, Simon. That seems like a healthy weight loss.

Time for an update here I guess - I just got round to weighing myself for the first time since I started trying to lose weight, today.
The last time I weighed myself I was 16 stone 12 pounds (236lb), pretty hefty I know. I'm not sure I trust the scales there.
However, today: 15 stone (210lb), so I think thats pretty good going?

How's that for a slice of fried gold?

Yeah, but if we go to the Moon, you'll still be the same number of kilograms, but I'll only be a sixth as many pounds.

(Actually, I guess that's not true anymore, given what you've said.)

THAT girl and I were trying to remember his name for ages the other night. She was so happy when we got it.

She loves Cheers. What a gal!

i did a bit of research and i think pounds are now considered units of mass, and based on kilograms, but about 100 years ago or something it was a unit of weight.

however, it doesn't really matter aslong as we're all measuring ourselves on earth!

when i'm in a physics lesson i'll give a shit about calling it the proper thing. besides, it's the same with pounds, no?

I think a pound actually is a unit of weight, but I could be wrong.

The metric unit of weight is the newton.

Yup, puked after one super-size meal.
One super-size coke = 1/2 gallon.
Kids in school get around 48 teaspoons of sugar a week from soft drinks.

Worse though - when he came off the McD's diet, his girlfriend put him on a vegan diet! Talk about kicking when down...

Yeah, I could hear it on in the sitting room. Fuck, the bit where he puked, yeuchh, I feel nausious. I have to admit, I'd struggle to actually define a calorie-is it a unit of energy craeted by burning fat?
PixieSteve Posted - 04/28/2005 : 15:08:08
that guy who had 9 burgers on his first visit to mcdonalds, haha.

On the subject - just watched Super Size Me. That film's thoroughly depressing, although it makes me feel like I'm doing something right at least.

I just couldn't believe all those people that didn't know what a calorie was!

Yes they do and you continue to lose for some unknown reason despite eating complete rubbish.
I bought a pair of jeans on the second day of the trip that were way to big for me by the end of it. I'm still completely lost as to how this happened but will gladly do the same route again with any forum members wanting to shed a few.

"Not even close" definition -- "I was born in
the Boston area, far far away from Long Beach,
matter of fact, as far away as you can get
in the Continental US from the West Coast, that's
right, fans, I was born on the East Coast, stick
that in your pipe and smoke it, floop, yep, I was
born in Allston, Mass., that's on the East Coast."

Well, he was still wrong about Long Beach!

By the way, speaking of Internet relationships, what if the actual person doesn't fit your mental image? Would you find them physically attractive anyway, because you're already attracted to them in other ways?

They probably had a mental image of them that was attractive.

what about successful internet relationships where there is no physical aspect to begin with.
