Amateur video purportedly shows 'huge' Bigfoot

Canadian Press
Apr. 19, 2005 10:31 AM

NORWAY HOUSE, Man. - Is Bigfoot walking the bush around a remote community in northern Manitoba?

Residents have been flocking to Georgina Henry's house to watch two minutes and 49 seconds of video shot by her son, Bobby Clarke, on the banks of the Nelson River shortly after dawn Saturday morning.

"It's pictures of Bigfoot," she said. "It's black and it's big. Oh god, it's huge - seven or eight feet high," Henry said. "We can see him walking, and then turning to look at him (Clarke).

Clarke said he was on duty at his job as a car ferry operator when he saw a "big, black figure" on the opposite bank, about 250 to 300 metres away. He grabbed his camcorder, which he said he always has with him.

"It was just massive, standing tall. I'm freaked out," Clarke said Monday in an interview from the ferry at an uninhabited bush area 40 kilometres from Norway House.

He said he's been nervous ever since, especially when he takes the ferry to that side of the river.

He said the creature walked upright on two legs back into the bush, barely 200 metres away from the ferry dock.

The bush comes right up to the dock, he said.

Clarke's wife, Winnie, agreed he was shaken by the experience.

"Elders say it's a blessing, it's a spiritual sign if people see it," she said.

She said she has been hearing from people who had seen Bigfoot themselves, but lacked evidence.

"Now that he's got this video, there's a lot of trappers and fishers out there, they've seen the tracks over the years."

Several people have been talking about taking a boat over to look for tracks, but Clarke said he wasn't very anxious to join them.

Ah yes... A Current Affair. I had no idea it was such a shit program until this video was aired on it. I don't think Bobby Clarke did either. They've really turned it into a joke.

I believe Mathew Moneymaker is trying to say that the video along with all of the other circumstances involved in this sighting point to it being an actual Sasquatch. The film alone does not stand up. i just went looking for his exact comments on his site but can't find them. He must have removed the manitoba section from his site because it is such a joke right now.

That professor guy should be wearing big floppy shoes and a clown nose.

It's a Sith lord taking a stroll!! What is that Matthew Moneymaker guy on about-it's too tall to be someone in a suit with body extensions, or something. "It leans toward being not a human, and when it's not a human and it does not fit the description of things people see in other places, then it's more likely that it's a Sasquatch.” Ho ho ho!! But that professor guy has to be a joke. It's so funny when he's talking about the dangers involved;"Perhaps other creatures are up there, a wild moose..." He's like a cross between Robert Crumb and Frank Oz. That song is hilarious;"Bigfoot, mighty bigfoot, what a creature!!" And there using that chainsaw chick as bait?! WHAT?!

BTW the more famous Bobby Clarke is from Flin Flon.

The video shown would not have caused a stir, something is missing.

How about we go on one of these sping break expeditions? I bet we'd be surround by people a liottle more interesting than Bigfoot believers. Like these people for example. They seem fun.

Wow! I hadn't even read that whole article before posting it. I see others are essentially saying the same thing. Cover up

The King Of Karaoke Posted - 05/05/2005 : 18:12:20
I didn't see the show and just got home but my buddy I have interested in this said it was bunk.

Question. How does 2:49 seconds of very convincing footage get turned into :20 of blurry Blobsquatch?

Bullshit! I smell a timber industry (as in Georgia Pacific) conspiracy. They don't want Sasquatch discovered because that would mean they have an endangered species living in the middle of their timber resource.

U.S. television show airs blurry image, excitement about sighting also fades

A flurry of excitement among Bigfoot believers was punctured last night by the screening of a new videotape that one disappointed expert said was so blurry she could barely make out any detail.

A ferry operator shot the video in northern Manitoba and Fox News bought it for what is believed to be a six-figure amount. It was aired yesterday on A Current Affair, a tabloid show that reaches few Canadian households.

Promotional clips for the show said that producers had "two minutes and 49 seconds of videotape you've gotta see to believe," a promise that Bigfoot researcher Lisa Shiel called overblown.

Ms. Shiel, author of a fictional work The Hunt for Bigfoot and currently at work on a non-fiction book called Backyard Bigfoot, watched the show from the Michigan's Upper Peninsula. She said that it was a brief program and that only 20 or 30 seconds of the Manitoba footage was shown.

"It's interesting, intriguing. Definitely something walking upright but that's about all you can see," she said in a telephone interview. "It's definitely not a bear."

As promotion for last night's show, Fox News had offered a brief clip so blurry it was almost impossible to make out any detail. The tape shown on the main program was not substantially better, Ms. Shiel said.

"It was a pretty blurry, dark shape that moved around," she said. "You could see arms and legs."

The Manitoban who shot the tape, Bobby Clark, was interviewed on the program. He described seeing the creature on the far bank of the Nelson River near his home in Norway House and grabbing his video camera to record the moment. He was not asked about the quality of the tape, which is so bad it brings to mind home-shot images from a generation ago.

Despite its quality, the very existence of the tape set off a burst of excitement among those who believe that these creatures roam the far reaches of the world.

Matt Moneymaker, a sasquatch hunter and the director of the U.S.-based Bigfoot Field Researchers Organization, has viewed the video and says it points to "a credible encounter."

In a statement on his organization's website, he says that the subject on the tape is either human or sasquatch, but adds that "it is not clearly one or the other."

Others had a different take. Posters to a Web forum linked to abovetopsecret.com, a site for discussing conspiracy theories, UFOs and other topics, were interested in the new tape but quick to denounce the poor quality as the result of a government cover-up.

"I'm telling you that it's been tampered with somehow," said one person, posting under the name Dr Love. "It just doesn't make sense for A Current Affair to hype that kind of garbage. It's been tampered with just to the point where you can't get a good view. How many of you have camcorders that produce crap results like that?"

That person went on to argue that the cover-up is driven by the need to conceal the fact that humans are not unique on this world. Bigfoot researcher Jeff Meldrum, an associate professor of anatomy at the University of Idaho, offered a more restrained view but was not entirely at odds with that perspective.

He said last night that, in spite of the existence of Bigfoot-like myth in many cultures around the world, much of human identity lies in a belief in our distinctness and argued that many would be shocked to discover that a wild humanoid creature exists.

"We are on top of the world and think we are the only hominid. But that's kind of an arrogant attitude. After all, the two oldest literary works, Beowulf and Gilgamesh, have as a co-star a hairy wild man."

Ms. Shiel, the Bigfoot researcher and author, said that even though the new videotape is disappointing it adds one more bit of information to the mystery surrounding the legend. "It's another intriguing piece in the puzzle. We keep adding to that jigsaw puzzle and maybe some day we'll be able to see the whole picture."

shineoftheever Posted - 05/04/2005 : 02:06:07
i think it's possible bigfoot is time-traveling race of beings that can't seem to come to grips with our reality therefore everytime they come to our here and now they can't fully form and are in essence blurry, their being is in transition. either that or their existence depends solely on our belief in them, if more people believe then they will become more tangible, less blurry. if the world was full of children only i think they would be all over the place and in focus.

I'm checking "Bigfoot forums" http://www.bigfootforums.com/index.php?act=idx to see what they have to say. No one is that impressed with the teaser clip they are showing. I have watched it twice and it proves nothing. That being said thye supposedly gave this Bobby Clark guy a lot of money to air this (six figures) I'm hoping to god there is more than the crap they are showing on their site.

The King Of Karaoke Posted - 05/03/2005 : 21:55:59
The new video is on tomorrow night on A Current Affair. It will be shown twice during the program and commented on by experts. A small clip will be available on Thursday on the ACA website. Now I am reading 30 seconds instead of the original 2:49. I hope this is the short clip on the web site.

Maybe Bigfoot and Nessie swapped places. Y'know.....Bigfoot is in Loch Ness with a giant oxygen tank, and Ness is wandering the woodlands of North America!

Oh, has anyone posted this?;

I don't know what I think about bigfoot. If he is real, I hope nobody ever find him/her...them...

As for the tooth. I am not buying it. Anyone remember the story of the neanderthal man skull found (again...pardon my spotty memory of history) in England. Known as the "piltdown man."I t was believed for decades and finally proven a huge hoax. To this day nobody is sure who was the mastermind behind the Piltdown man.

I think a brodge is very newsworthy because it is very
rare. You don't see many brodges, in Chicago or elsewhere.

You know what kills me? The other day i put the news on and they had thirty second on Iraq, zero seconds on new Bigfoot footage but five whole minutes devoted to some salt stain under this brodge in Chicago that these religuos freaks think looks like the Virgin Mary or Guadalupe. Five Minutes for that shit!! Idiots!

This was my favorite quote

""There is absolutely no credible scientific evidence of the existence of Bigfoot or Sasquatch or whatever you want to call it" ....This slightly biased sounding statement led me to question to what extent Hare has studied the subject. Before accepting this statement as fact, I decided to do a little investigating myself.

Believe it or not, there are  reputable scientists out there who consider not only the existence of Bigfoot plausible, but who warrant what little evidence we do have, as credible enough to merit serious study."
