I know what you mean... you are on to something. From what I'ver heard in terms of seasonal allergies its more like.... you aren't exposed to enough of the pollen or what ever early on in your life, then you don't build up antibodies correctly or what ever... so your antibodies over reaact and sort of attack your body when they do come across these items.

I bet Kitty can describe it way better than me.

Yeah but they don't produce noise.

Malax, that sucks, you are really missing out with cashew nuts (he says as he feats on them).

Oh let it linger

Im allergic to cashew nuts. Just one single nut causes my lips and mouth to expand and me to vomit excessively for an hour or so. More than one would probably kill me.

To be perfectly fair a friend of mine who is both the most extreme in terms of diet and health beliefs is also the healthiest. She herself was riddled with allergies when I first met her 10 years ago - now, hasn't had to see a doctor in 7 years for an illness or any other affliction for 7 years - but then neither have I.

Yes, I agree the New Agers or whoever you want to call them aren't always right, but I personally would always rather choose a natural rather than a medical route to try solve something. And if it really bugged me, I would probably try the detox thing - it's just that I love my preferred toxins too much, so that's not going to happen.

Yes, and magnets can cure cancer. If these New Agers think they have all the answers to common medical problems, does that mean they're all incredibly healthy? I tend to doubt it.

As far as fruit goes, I remember some woman I used to know saying that she couldn't eat mangoes because she had the same reaction to them that she did to poison ivy. She WAS kind of crazy, though.

My mom said something about how people with latex allergies couldn't eat bananas.

omigod! I'm not the only one who can't eat certain kinds
of fruit!

Nic I got the fruit thing too, but less so I think

I can't eat certain fruits either it causes my lips to blister and swell (like the plum that did me wrong the other day)

I can't eat yoghurt or any pro-biotic foods I get the same results

I get pretty bad hayfever every few years, usually it's mild sniffly summer but every so often full blown ick

I am sensitive to latex

I think thats it... oh no wait, I got to be careful what soap powder I use as well.

I feel like I am the only person in the world with this problem - I can't eat fruit with a high acidity level and you can totally forget about fruit juice (like liquid naplam to me) - pineapples, strawberries and grapefruit cause me to break out in a rash. Though it must be said, that does not stop me from eating them.

How the fuck can I be allergic to healthy stuff?

The hippy food police keep telling me that if I detoxed and went for a major course of colonic irrigation (apologies to the squeamish for bringing that up again) I'd be allergy free (as would everyone else apparently).

I only suffer from slight seasonal allergies. My only real allergy is my bee alergy. I guess that they are sort of seasonal. I just started carying around my epipen again a few days ago after my first bee sighting of the year.

Some brains just work that way, that's what chemicals can do.
VoVat Posted - 04/08/2005 : 21:47:27
I get pretty bad hay fever during the spring. Not as bad as I used to when I was a kid, though.

Don't talk to me about allergies, with the sneezing and the coughing and itching and the mwahhh.
kathryn Posted - 04/08/2005 : 17:34:02
Daisy, just the title of this thread weirds me out. Suddenly, I
developed allergies to every damned thing under the sun. It
screwed up my life. If you need any help or suggestions, email me.
I'd rather spare everybody the details.

Lol.. figuratively... my nose is like a spiggot (sp) set to ON. And plus i sneeze like 10 times an hr

I've taken some generic Clarin, but to no avail.

Cats, they're cute but I am really allergic to most of them.

Basically I'm allergic to so much stuff it's crazy... but right now its the trees and flower pollen that's drivin' me crazy
