heya,

i got a response from the manager of Souled American:

"The band still exists and is working on a new album. A tour will follow shortly, but there are no firm release dates at this time.

Thanks for the interest and please keep in touch.

Jeff Hamand
Manager
Souled American"

for those who don't know the band (probably many): they are awesome !!! can't find a word to describe - maybe alt-country or something. but if you like FB, i think you will like them too. it's not so much a similiar sound, but more the sonwriting-approach, i think.
they started in the late 80ies and produced some very good albums (check FE out!). there must have been a ten-year break or so, but anyways, now things are looking bright.

get interested in that band !

My friend Camden Joy is really into Souled American. He and some friends did a cool Souled American poster project years ago, which can be viewed here:
http://www.camdenjoy.com/htm/carteles_souled.shtml
He also wrote a cool little rant about Frank's 'Teenager Of The Year,' after Frank got dropped by Elektra, titled 'The Greatest Record Album Ever Told' which is reprinted in his book 'Lost Joy.' Good reading, all.

I admire your tenacity. Thanks for the good news - I really dig this band. We must promise each other that if either one hires them to play our "event", the other is invited.

Consider yourself formally invited to our future home in Kentucky, if it ever comes to pass. Do you like Mint Juleps?

this morning i listened to "FLUBBER". i don't like it as much as "FE".
