So it seems Roxy Music has reformed again, and that they'll do a summer tour, the first confirmed date being on June 11th at the Isle Of Wight festival. I can't wait to see if they add a date in Paris, I saw the 2001 live DVD and it was a great performance.

Bryan Ferry is 60 now...

There's a fantastic live version of 'Do The Strand' on 'The Old Grey Whistle Test Best Of' DVD ('The Old Grey Whistle Test' was a BBC music show from the '70s and '80s)

The whole DVD is great actually here's just a few of the bands on it:

The Sensational Alex Harvey Band : Give My Compliments to the Chef
Talking Heads: Psycho Killer
Iggy Pop: I'm Bored
Tubeway Army - Are Friends Electric
Robert Wyatt - Shipbuilding
Tom Waits - Tom Traubert's Blues

Wow, I would really like to see them... not like it matters, but how old are they now?

Denis, that songlist made me swoon. Thanks for posting and thanks for the
thread. Do you know if they're coming to the States? I might change
my username to Virginia Plain

Uh? Avalon is a Roxy Music album. It might even be my fave record by them.

I imagine we can expect something similar to their 2001 concert. The tracklisting from the DVD goes like this:
Re-Make / Re-Model
Street Life
Ladytron
Why my heart is still beating
Out of the blue
A song for Europe
My only love
In every dream home a heartache
Oh Yeah !
Both ends burning
Tara
Mother of Pearl
Avalon
Dance away
Jealous guy
Editions of you
Virginia Plain
Love is the drug
Do the strand
For your pleasure

I'd go just to hear Avalon or More Than This.

I mean, I know its Ferry solo stuff, but those tunes are just golden pop moments.

Well apparently there was a small blurb in the original PR about a new album (posted on www.manzanera.com), but the paragraph has since disappeared from the newspage. There was a rumour also that Brian Eno would participate but he has published a denial on his website. It sounded weird anyway.

There's word of them producing a new album too.
