Not saying this is a bad mix, but it hardly reflects the variety of bands that he championed. No Pixies, no PJ Harvey - in fact looking at that list, nothing from the past 20 years.

You want it all but you can't have it.

“I want to be a star!” I cried
They said, “You’re overqualified.
Why don’t you learn to tune your damn guitar?”

There is no Led Zeppelin and Captain Beefheart as well.

At least the complete Fall sessions are being issued as a 6 CD set shortly.

Turns out this is just a horrible coincidence - it's not actually a tribute album but various music media types and journos got crossed wires and this nearly caused a full scale riot in London yesterday.

*massive sigh of relief & calms self down to panic*

You want it all but you can't have it.

I have to agree, that tracklist blows. Someone needs some schoolin' with a ruler, and right quick.
BLT Posted - 03/03/2005 : 08:14:03
The Fall have only done 25 Peel sessions.

I must say it again, where's the Fall?

Tribute album.

If you can call it that.

You want it all but you can't have it.
kathryn Posted - 03/03/2005 : 06:47:06
Yes, what is this? A tribute album or a mix someone made?

And far too much of one genre.

Grrrrrr.

You want it all but you can't have it.
Homers_pet_monkey Posted - 03/03/2005 : 06:36:26
Yeah it's too mainstream for Mr Peel.
Surfer Rosa Posted - 03/03/2005 : 06:20:19
Just a bit.

The person who passed on this bit of info had a rather valid point in saying you could pick up anything like this at HMV already.

There are so many and such a variety that frankly I think this is a hangeable offense.

I might have to go have a mini rant in the arrogant self indulgent topic for a bit.

It's quite punky isn't it.
Surfer Rosa Posted - 03/03/2005 : 06:11:18
It is and it's a world gone mad I tell you!

I should add that it is the *rumoured* tracklisting

You want it all but you can't have it.
