I found this website and it keeps me and my pal at work IN STITCHES...we started using some cockney rhyming slang around the office to chat about coworkers and bosses and stuff.

I really like "bang one out"...it just sounds so bloody cool.

and i started saying 'bugger!" for everything...what a groovy word...that and "piss off!" when I tell people to go away...they look at me like I'm angry or something...:)

As in, "Take me back to dear old Blighty... drop me off at Birmingham but I DON'T CARE!"

Import terminology in the chav lexicon: Croydon facelift. Female hairstyle...

yeah, i used to call them townies too.

But then they cottoned on to the fact they were being called townies, so me and my friends at the time changed their names to sprays & stripes. Sprays - girl townies, because of the amount of hair spray used, Stripes - boy townies because of the numerous adidas brands they would be wearing...

On the class matter, i dont think its so much about them being poor, an awful lot of them are not, its the choices of places they hang around (shops) and life they lead, a well as the morals (or lack of them|) that lead to their status

chav - council house and violent

I hate to advocate drugs, alcohol, violence or insanity to anyone, but they've always worked for me.

That's why I added the second bit. I think that explained it to everyone more intelligent than a monkey. Which everyone here is.

Oh, Ok, thanks. I am embarrassed to admit that I had to ask
Tre not too long ago what, oh, shit now I can't remember the word.
It was some expression that I've heard forever and she said
it meant "England." What is it? Blightey?

Yeah I hate this new name, Chav. I have always called them scallies and townies.

It's Lynx, baby. Brings me out in a rash. Its spary on chav, I tell you.
Apparently, Romford and Chatham vie for the title of Official Home Of The Chav. Never been to Romford, last went to Chatham when I was at the age when buying Connectibles was cool, so I wouldn't really know. Or want to.

However, I do find myself considering chavs like an artform now, as in, "that is the chaviest chav I have seen in my life."

It's a strange one though, calling someone a chav. They've always existed, but they were Townies before, if I remember aright. Check out 'Gone', on Series 2 of Spaced for the finest examples of pre-chav chavs. Clever boys.

Axe deoderant body spray. It's like spary on chav. Popular commercials showing women attacking (sexually) anything sprayed with it.

Never heard of it.

Aw shucks, that's kind of you Mikey. This genital cream smells something fierce, but I have enough ice and Axe on me, they won't notice...

Tell me you guys have Axe over there. It's like advertising that you're a moron over here.

Non-diseased little scally slages won't even look in my non-chav direction. It's sad.
Homers_pet_monkey Posted - 03/01/2005 : 14:12:45
Hehe, yeah that's about it. The only girls you will attract are diseased little scally slags.

Oh that's who you wanted to attract? Fair enough then.

So, you're saying I should straighten my retro Nike baseball cap, stop buying new white Adidas sneakers everytime they get scuffed, put my gold chains inside my huge white t-shirt and shave off my little thin 'stache and burns combo? Then how will I attract all the gorgeous mami's?
Homers_pet_monkey Posted - 03/01/2005 : 13:39:02
Thanks Mike but I don't even want to read them, they will just disgust me.

I have to say, I love the british slang. Its so much better htan yank slang. heh.

When i was younger i used to have a proper cockney accent, all the slang and everythng. Cant barely remember any of it though. I do remember going to a neighbours house once and being shocked at her mum saying 'its up the STAIRS'....me and mum always said apple and pears for years. weird.

No Kathryn, being a chav is something to be very much ashamed of. Chavs are just tasteless.

PixieSteve Posted - 03/01/2005 : 12:57:44
hah, my last three posts were an attempt to shocking/funny.

frank black conspiracy Posted - 03/01/2005 : 12:50:08
they just wind me up when i'm driving down the road and they're just casually walking across the street, knowing the cars are coming but slow to a crawl to prove how hard they are. boys! i'm in a fuckin' car, if this hits you, you're dead! you don't have to prove to me you own the streets, i don't live here.

sorry steve, you should try visiting blackpool more often. it's a plague.

and i will and do
GCSE or 2?
if only you knew
PixieSteve Posted - 03/01/2005 : 12:42:22

you think?

its got nothing to do with shiney white adidas trackies, chains outside your tees, spitting everytime you step, swearing, wearing socks OVER your trousers, wearing a cap at a stupid angle, buntered up cars, no manners blah blah blah....?

sorry Steve, i'm from a working class background but have respect and no not to intimidate because you have nothing better to do. Plus i've spent too long up Blackpool, they're f**kin' everywhere. i don't think it's to do with class.
