I've been loving this band for years, and from what I've heard of the new album, well, I'm very excited.

If you like Slint, Shellac (played Shellac's ATP in 2002), or Arcade Fire (similar dynamics and vibe - I hear Louisville bands when I hear AF), you might want to check out this song:

Shipping News are: Jason Noble, Jeff Mueller (Rodan, June of 44, etc.), Todd Cook (Glasspack, The For Carnation, current Slint bassist), Kyle Crabtree

Dunno, the new one isn't out til March 22. If you're on slsk, we have a bunch up there (among other stuff), look for "spudboy".

AF actually reminds me of the Louisville sound, not necessarily just Shipping News. They probably more closely resemble Rodan.

Not bad. Reminds me more of Sonic Youth than Arcade Fire. Is the rest of the album in a similar vein?
