Posted - 02/18/2005 : 10:33:00 Has anyone seen this yet? The first episode was on last Friday(I hope to watch it again tonight). It's co-written/directed by Chris Morris, one of the funniest guys in the world. It's a little different from his previous projects, being a kind of satirical comedy-drama, and originated as an online joke thingy. It really rips the piss out of modern media. It's on at 10:00 tonight on C4. and it's repeated on E4 during the week. |

Posted - 02/26/2005 : 05:33:37 I have to say I enjoyed it more this week. The pissing pictures were great, Jamie Oliver naked taking a running piss, David Bowie pissing in a toaster, brillant!

Posted - 02/24/2005 : 09:57:37 I got Garth Marenghi on DVD this week. It's not official 'cos it isn't out on DVD, but the quality is fine (recorded from digital TV to DVD). I got it off Ebay for £5.50. Bloody bargain sir!

Posted - 02/20/2005 : 18:24:31 Its' on BBC2 around 11pm or 12pm I think? (not the best time I know) of a Monday. It used to be just a clip show with funny graphics and a reassuring voice over, but now it's evolved into a studio show ala Tommorws World.

Posted - 02/20/2005 : 14:26:58 I have won an auction for Dark Place DVD. It's not an official release (there isn't one and apparantly there may never be), but is recorded from digital TV to DVD, with menus, proper case, colour inlays etc. It cost sme £5.50 plus £1.75 P&P. Bargain. Can't wait 'til it arrives.
I have never heard of Look Around You. When is it on and which channel?

Posted - 02/20/2005 : 12:24:48 dark place was brilliant. and the black guy was the best in it! such an awesome actor ;) the new series of Look around you isnt that funny in my opinion. unlike the first series. that was tres amusant |

Posted - 02/20/2005 : 11:38:39 Dark Place was soo funny, have you been watching Look Around You HPM?, a piss take on 70's kids educational programmes. Really funny with loads of cool guests like Harry Enfeild and Simon Pegg.

Posted - 02/19/2005 : 08:02:05 I don't have Jam but I have The Day Today and On The Hour radio tapes. Morris is indeed a big Pixies fan.
Did anyone used to watch Garth Marenghi's Dark Place? It was absolutely hilarious, and I noticed that the black guy from it was also in Nathan Barley. Funny guy.

Posted - 02/19/2005 : 07:45:18 Chris Morris is a genius but I could'nt really get into Nathan Barley, I watched abit more of the repeat but just found the trashbat guy really annoying(which he obviously is supposed to be). I also read that it's satirizing the media culture in London which had it's heyday about five years ago? Still I loved the taking the piss out of the trendy twats with their ridiculous cloths and acceseries, plus like Darragh says the langauge is great. Motherbanger is such a brillantly done piss take on the Pixies, I think he must really like them to get every nuance of that song sounding like exactly them. The Day Today and Jam are also brillantly hilarious and disturbing.

Posted - 02/19/2005 : 07:05:13 It's been mentioned on here before, but have you ever heard Chris Morris' Pixies spoof song? It's called Motherbanger and it's absolutely brilliant. The resemblance is uncanny.

Posted - 02/19/2005 : 06:50:43 I'm not too keen on this. I loved BrassEye, but this just seems a bit too nonsensical and confusing. One thing I did love though is Chris's crazy language use "It's well weapon!", "Hoot your trap off!". Check out trashbat.co.uk, there's some pictures and stuff. If you ain't seen BrassEye yet, you should definitely get the DVD, you bunch of fucking CUSTARD GANNETS!!! |

Posted - 02/18/2005 : 11:41:49 Shit I forgot to watch this. NME had an article on Charlie Brooker (Nathan is his character, the series is co-written with Chris Morris who is indeed one of the funniest guys in the world) the other week, that's where I found out about it. I will watch it tonight anyway. Thanks for the reminder.
