I don't know what it is... I know it's something to do with PBS, and I know the Pixies have played on it. My brother told me that the other night he was switching channels and he found it - and the pixies were playing.
But what is Austin City Limits? I googled it to no avail. I'm here in Canada, so I was wondering what network it airs on (if anyone knows) and if you don't, what American network does it air on? (I'm guessing PBS, but if it's on any others please share)
So what is it exactly, is it a monthly/weekly/daily/yearly television show, or concert, or festival, or what?
(I checked the official Austin City Limits - PBS website but it really wasn't that helpful) |

Those ACLs get repeated all the time. In L.A. they're on two or three stations. |

hey tobafett did u tape modest mouse by any chance? My recording of it got screwed up so i cant watch it :(. I would pay you to make me a copy :)

links up to clips of the Pixies show.
Last I knew, ACL ran monthly out of Austin.

This year is something like the 30th anniversary of the show. Before the last few seasons the show tended to be more blues and country (reflecting the music of Austin Texas) with the occassion rock band thrown in. This year it seems heavy with the for lack of a better term alternative bands. |

PBS plays ACL on the weekends (at least, that's when I get to see it, in SK). This weekend it was on friday at 2am. It was Modest Mouse and Guided By Voices, and it was awesome. Two weeks ago it was Wilco and Bright Eyes. Wilco were amazing, Bright Eyes bored me. Check your local listings, I guess. |
