Even that is cheap compared to what a lefty would pay Steve.

yeah fucking hell... i picked up a schweet MIJ Telecaster myself, from somewhere in london. £330 with a stand.
Homers_pet_monkey Posted - 01/31/2005 : 09:59:20
That's less than half of what they cost here. What a bloody joke.

$385 for the sunburst model, which is priced a little higher than the other colors.

Naaa, but they're reasonably common on Ebay.

What I dislike most about fret buzz is it wears out the frets. But like I said, they're good value if that doesn't bother you.
Homers_pet_monkey Posted - 01/31/2005 : 09:11:25
I really like a low action though, so that suits me fine. I don't really use a clean sound anyway so I shouldn't be able to notice a fret buzz. Hey Scarla O, did you get your Burns from Ebay? Just wondering if it is the one that I saw.

I recently bought a new MIM Tele but returned it after a week. It was a nice guitar for the little money it cost, but I was not happy with the frets. They were too low. There was too much fret buzz even though the truss rod adjustment was correct and the action was as high as I was willing to go.

I think... the goverments using telephone poles TO CONTROLER OUR MINDS! Just like tooth-paste and the stuff they secretly put in our water. Oh yeah, and also the stuff they implant into your jaw while you're sleeping - but that's only if you're lucky.

Cheers HPM...i think Fender and Gibson are both pretty terrible as regards their catering for lefties - I always have a softspot for the companies that don't charge extra for lefty guitars too.

Yeah I saw a lefty Burns Marquee on Ebay once. I didn't have the cash to get it though. Gutted. Nice guitars, both of them.

Love, love, my season
Scarla O Posted - 01/31/2005 : 04:00:33

I'm playing these:

A Burns Marquee

A Patrick Eggle New York

Both quite cheap and both good enough for recording and gigging with.

Yes I am, glad you remembered. I still have the strat and Les Paul copies sadly. My amp really does deserve better but I am gonna get me a Telecaster soon. The problem is that the choice really isn't that great for lefties (especially here in the UK), and they are always more expensive.

How about you?

No?

Check out their 7-CD B-sides remix album "St Francis Goddam!" for a cracking bunch of songs.
