...what would that be, what personal attribute would you get rid of?

I'm going for "be less impatient about the Catholics touring
again."

I second all that, Sir Rockabye.

If I could change anything about myself, I think I would like to be a more proficient musician naturally. I see many people around me in the music community who just have a natural gift for music, and are able to express it effortlessly. So, if I could change one thing about myself, that is what I'd like to change.

No, the only proper job I have is I teach 10 hours a week from 5-7pm then play with band from 10-1am and I spend the rest of the time writing, letters to friends, a column I´m doing for a small magazine, novel, and I read short stories people´ve submitted to a lit magazine here, 5 a week, and tell the editor yes no yes yes maybe. I´ve got all morning to loaf around secondhand bookshops and drink coffee.

Newo, it sounds like you have the perfect life, if I may say so. I really respect what you do, and strive to hopefully have some sort of similar future. It really sounds like you're persued your passions, unless I'm mistaken. Its really refreshing to see someone doing what they really enjoy.

I wish I could at least support the others musics.

Oh. Well. Um. Last time I checked, patience was a virtue. I don't think I have any of those. Well, I guess gauging by my first post in this thread I must have some sort of patience. Meh. It's five in the morning. I've got nothing right now. Sorry.
kathryn Posted - 02/03/2005 : 18:02:35
Prozacrat, thank you! However, I know all that. But I am impatient.
I have no ability to delay gratification. Can you teach me patience?

And hello to you. How are you?

Aaaah I thought she meant the price stickers and such-like. They are much harder to get off in one piece. The ones that you are refering to always come off in one piece.

It's really rather simple, but I don't know if I can explain it as easily. Once you've taken the cellophane off the jewel case, unhinge the lid at the bottom of the jewel case, so that (with the sticker holding the top together) it opens from the bottom. Then just peel the whole thing away from the lid/top part of the jewel case. Does that make sense, or is it jibberish?

i wish i could get over my disdain of emoticons and learn to sprinkle my posts with them. or if that doesn't work, i wish i were smart enough to use sarcasm effectively so that people don't assume i'm bitching at them when i'm actually just screwing around.

Neither did I before I came here, and I never took classes. It was like swimming through mud the first couple months and then I caught on to there´s so many similar words between the two (English: inevitable - Spanish: inevitable) that most of it is just inspired guessing and putting a Spanish accent on it instead of Eenglish.

montag,

you don't know whom i met. as everywhere, i got in contact with dull and not so dull people (with latter usually fanatically hating the first ones). i'm not talking of nice or happy people. because of the purpose of my stay, i did spend most of the time with "good" educated men and women (university environment), so may impression is definitely biased. but still, overall i encountered an open-mindness which i don't find here.
don't get me wrong, i don't think the US are good and Europe is bad. possibly there are more dumb people over there. definitely your social system is ways worse then ours. there is a bigger gap between the poor and the rich (but in this respect, we are doing everything to follow). you pollute the environment more and waste energy mindless. television makes people paranoid. you have got terrible hip-hop.
but still, you manage to be the world leader in politics, economics and science. and as a matter of fact, everybody, worldwide, tries to copy the US. and charles thompson and the pixies could only happen in the US, that is for sure.

what i'm trying to say ? i don't know. i'm defending a country i don't really know, that is strange. but somehow these thoughts went through my head when i stood at the coast and stared at the pacific. it is naive, and so probably very american. but this naivity is exactly what i needed to balance my cynisnm. end of story.

I joined the cult of Souled American / 'cause they are a damn' fine band

It was originally supposed to take six weeks to heal, but that was over a year ago. There have been complications, to say the least. Now they're sending me off to the Mayo Clinic to have some specialists try to fix it. If the Mayo Clinic can't fix it, then I'm pretty much crippled for life. Lest stem cell research makes some marketable advances, in which case bone regeneration has a much better shot. Oh well. I've been waiting long enough so far.
