This may not come as a surprise to some of you, but apparently my defining characteristic is that I'm mean. A good friend of mine from work told me that there was a while when he didn't like me because every time he put a CD on the stereo, I would launch into a diatribe about his music taste, and tell him to put the Pixies on.

Now, I think this is pretty fair considering his music taste involves the likes of Shed Seven, but I have come to realise that OK, I can be offensive. I'm really a pretty nice person, but I can be really harsh on people. Its all totally in fun, and people work that out with me very quickly, but there you go...

Another time (this was a Friday night in the pub so no-one remembers who), someone who hadn't met me before described me as very 'sharp'. I thought this was quite cool, in a 'thanks, I make an effort to look good' way, but clearly, that wasn't what they meant.

So there you go: my defining characteristic is being insulting, mean and generally harsh in a friendly kinda way.
What's yours?

I'm passive-aggressive, but I'm continually working on it.

I used to be meanly sarcastic, but now try to be more ironic.

I tend to drop names (see: Visconti - previous post), but I never lie about shit like that. I also met Albini and he was a dork in a jumpsuit. But he was extremely honest and knows he's a dork.

And in-jokes, because I long to be in. I can't stand being out.

I guess these are worst traits. Defining characteristic is probably passive-aggressive. It's not a thing to be proud of, but at least I know that that's what I am and I always try to make amends.

I met Visconti once. He had a girl 30 years his younger, an I don't think it was to hold him up. Is that what you mean?

just so everyone knows...a friend confirmed that my list of my defining characteristics is pretty darn close. So maybe I do know myself pretty well.

Well this is an interesting thread. So...most see me as scatterbrained, forgetful, too nice (as if there is such a thing), silly, wierd...um...different, and some say I am very unorganized, but I am not really. I have it organized in my own way and I know where everything is. Attention Deficit Disorder seems to cover my personality pretty well.

And I am lost, who are we not supposed to post after?
never mind, I think I have figured it out.

I've heard: too calm, depressed, charming, never feels any guilt, strange, funny, easy going, manipulative, selfish, ok

well when i look at it, i could almost pass for a psychopath or something..

but ok is the one I'd go with

Wow, what was the spam attaction in this thread? The breasts? Anyway, now that the thread is open again, why don't us relative noobs throw in our own two cents' worth?

Like Llamadance, if I were to ask my wife what my defining characteristic is, she'd dance around the arrogance thing long enough to convince me I'm witty and dry. But eventually I'd realize I'm just plain arrogant. But hey, as a wise forum member explained to me, I'm American!

Please pardon me, for these my wrongs.

I asked my wife (big mistake) and she said she was trying to think of a nice way to put arrogance, but then as I have many insecurities, she backtracked on that and said it's the way I see the world in black and white, no shades of grey.

Handsome, like Michael J. Fox.

1. I am a fsh with no i's.
2. You must be wearing Zubaz, 'cause you're daring to be different.
3. I am a man with 3 fingers...but that doesn't count my index finger nor my thumb.

I prefer not to pin myself down with characterisation, but anyone can feel free to call me whatever they want.
And Shed Seven? That guy deserves whatever´s coming to him, Simon.

Flakey is the one that most use (i.e I have moments of being highly intelligent and thick as shit, vampy as fuck and slobby as waynetta, funny as hell and more boring than a librarian,) or fickle or just crap - but always with very perky breasts...
