Posted - 01/26/2005 : 09:04:50 I was actually on the team that developed Excel. Also, I invented the question mark (not Dr. Evil). Before that, we used to use exclamation marks. We used to run around yelling at each other about everything. It was bedlam. Which is also a term I invented as a result of this scenario.

Don't know if this trick works for excel files in mac, but you could try saving it as a .csv file vs. .xls.
My husband uses Microsoft Acess as a good alternative to get more lines. He's worked with 1.2 million lines and not reached the end.
Thanks Daisy. I haven't tried Access but I suspect it wouldn't do the math and graphing that I need. |

Posted - 01/25/2005 : 20:54:00 I use excel, and access but mainly excel, it is a necessity.

Posted - 01/24/2005 : 16:06:45 I use Excel on a Mac and it's terrible. The graphs are butt ugly and hard to customize and it only allows something like 50,000 rows. But, I'm too lazy to find an alternative. |

Posted - 01/24/2005 : 01:44:44 Well I use Excel almost everyday, but I can't say in english what I do. For Monsieur: Je suis un pro du Tableau Croisé Dynamique et de la recherche V. Pas mauvais avec les formules (sauf les financières), la mise en forme. un truc que je ne supporte pas: les référénces de cellules L1C1 au lieu de L1CA.

Posted - 01/23/2005 : 14:28:58 I have excel on my mac. I have to say that I find microsoft products unwieldy. I tried using it the other day, and I gave up and wrote out my info (cataloguing my backup cd's) by hand. Can't wait till I can afford to put the mac office software on my computer. ;)

Posted - 01/23/2005 : 10:51:26 I hope this is a serious question. For the last two weeks, my husband has been coming home from work uncharacteristically frustrated because of Excel, which is used on Macs at his office. Anybody know any Mac shortcuts? Is that what you use, Monsieur, or a PC?
