Quesadillas Since 2005

Dear floop
I so desperately need you advice that I started this thread. Please answer. I know I won't be the only lost soul seeking
your guidance.
Here is my sad tale of woe:
This couple, who my husband and I always thought were boring, befriended us and we've hung out together a bunch because their kid is all palsy-walsy with out kid. Every time after we've gotten together with them, Mr. Kathryn and I have agreed that we were bored to tears. Then they got way agressive about getting together, calling, being persistent, etc. The last two times we gritted our teeth and hung out with them their kid taught our kid some bad stuff (invoving lying as well as climbing on tall dressers). Mr. Kathryn thinks this is the perfect excuse for dropping them ("We can no longer socialize with you because your brat's gonna turn our angel into Charlie Manson. Sorry.")
I think we shouldn't say anything but just fade from view. We live in an awfully small town.
How do I handle this with a modicum of grace?

You see I thought so, the way I figured it was that whilst FCS causes the cells to divide at a higher rate it's probably pushing them through the resriction point at the end of G1 phase before they've had time to grow they're shoved into S phase and then again rapidly through G2 because of the increased signalling from the growth factors to divide and they aren't getting much of a chance to synthesize DNA (S phase) or express proteins (G2) such as those needed to break down the MTT (mitochondrial dehydrogenases) to the blue formazan that is recorded at 570nm. Looking more closely around 5 and 1% FCS the drop off of absorbance is less, so it is likely there is an optimum FCS level for the cells which I would have thought was higher than this because of the 10% standard FCS added to a lot of media...
But if you says so floopster I believes you! There's only 20% of this module riding on this one...

ok, how about if I've done two colourmetric assays on cells treated with varying concentration foetal calf serum (FCS) and the crystal violet assay run through a spectrophotometer shows that the more FCS added the higher the absorbance at 540nm therefore the more cells there and hence higher proliferation in increased growth factor.
