i don't take film awards that seriously, but it's also hard not to get sucked into them. they say that the Critics Choice Awards often go on to become the same Oscar picks, especially Best Picture.

i think it would be great if Alexander Payne won for SIDEWAYS.

did anyone watch this last night? how lame were all those scripted jokes?

I too thought Shrek 2 was pretty good. Not as good as the original but better than most big movies.
Homers_pet_monkey Posted - 01/11/2005 : 16:06:55
Hey I haven't seen The Incredibles (though it does look quite funny), I just hate Shrek.

better than the incredibles, IMO, i thought puss-in-boots was funny! Jason Lee (inredi-boy/syndrome) was really good in the incredibles.

ok, ok, shrek 2 was AS GOOD AS the incredibles now that i think about it.

i never saw a bad review for the spongebob movie, and all the "critics" were saying incredibles was just another formulaic piece of crap (i liked it myself, don't get me wrong, i just thought spongebob was much better, shrek 2 also)
shineoftheever Posted - 01/11/2005 : 15:28:40
was spongebob even nominated for best feature? it's things like this that piss me off. has a non-pixar/disney film ever won best animated? fucking mouse!

A little of column A, a little of column B.

HPM also fits neatly into both categories.

Are you guessing that because you think I'm retarded, or because you're the only person in the world who 'gets' it?

Yeah, it was pretty good. I'm not saying it was crappy, but to me, that's what that category represents. The tastes of the general public generally suck, so anything 'popular' isn't usually good. Just look at the People's Choice Awards. Or, God forbid, the Teen Choice Awards. Although, I think Farenheit 9/11 one for best picture in the People's Choice, so who knows.

yeah but, SPIDERMAN 2 was good

It's like, best crappy movie. Kinda like saying, "I hate the radio, but that Usher song was okay...".
floop Posted - 01/11/2005 : 11:22:06
i would take it to mean, most popular among all groups of people (different age groups ect..) but then they have "best family film" which SPIDERMAN 2 was also nominated for

Exactly how many people have to go and see a film for it to be considered 'popular'?
