Hi, I just wanted some recommendations from the guitar players here for guitar leads. The ones I have are on their way out, and I need a new one. Can anyone recommend any particular brands?

Did you see that news about Monster cables? They're trying to sue about 20 other companies for use of the word "monster": http://www.denverpost.com/Stories/0,1413,36~33~2611825,00.html

I use Monster cables, but not the really expensive studio ones. The cheaper ones are still great and come with a lifetime guarantee so if it breaks I can bring it to the store and they'll just give me a new on no questions asked.

Will I ever reach 1000?

'Cos I saw you post on their forum. The name Doog is a givaway. I have seen you somewhere else before too. I did mention it, but you have probably forgotten. It may have been a forum about Fender Jags, I really can't remember.

Uhh, possibly, might've bought something from them online one time. Anyways, how would you know?! I'm scared..

I assume your talking about a guitar cord a.k.a. cable.

I've been using Digiflex Tourflex cables, they may only be local. I like them because they last (good parts). They use Neutrik connectors which have a 3 or 4 piece construction and what I guess is good cable. I noticed they don't have the same slack loop in the wire inside the connector that they had, but I still have yet to have a problem with them.

Sounds like Ernie Ball may be best then. Thanks guys.

Don't bother with Planet Waves. Overpriced, and both me and my buddies (bought at around the same time) gave out withing 3 months. Ernie Ball and Pirahna do me fine.

Thanks fbc. My main one is a Neutrick. Anyone ever use one of them before? It's packed up now it seems.

I'm using 2 PROEL cables at the moment HPM for no reason other than they were the only ones for sale.
(Proel noiseless. don't know the difference to noisy but it's probably obvious, just not yet to me)
They've done the job so far (bout 9 months, but I can't say if their a quality brand. About £10 upwards.

The local guitar shops back here sell Pirahna and Horizon cables. Both around £10 plus.
I use to go through alot of the Pirahnas ones so I guess avoid.

Havent tried Planet Waves but will do next purchase.

I haven't shopped for leads for ages - I think they're about twenty quid.

Planet Waves seem to do the job well.
