Also from the forums on shoutcast it looks like i have to forward ports or something but i have no idea how to do that? any help would be great. Thanks so much! :)
OK, this is very simple.
1) Are you connected directly to your modem or are you behind a router? If you are behind a router, then you need to forward port, if not, you don't have to worry about it. If you are let me know and i will explain.
2) The Shoutcast server uses the ports 8000 and 8001 by default. You must tell the Firewall to let the Shoutcast server use those ports. For the time being, you can test the process by turning your firewall off. If it works, then you can work on the firewall settings later.
3) You must know your computer's IP address. Go to http://www.whatismyipaddress.com to get it, then enter it in the Shoutcast plugin. If you are behind a router, you must know your internal IP. But i don't want to enter into these details for now.
Do you have AIM or MSN? I can help you later tonight. My MSN: odysseus_2002@hotmail.com and my AIM: lanc310t
Feel free to add me and we can discuss how to make your radio work. Let me know at what times you're available (and what location you are). I'm in Houston, so i am -6 hours GMT.
I stopped mine for a while, after 36 hours broadcasting! I was getting tired of playing the same songs. |

Posted - 01/09/2005 : 01:07:49 yeah, i put the broadcasting quality way too high (96 k/s = CD quality). it is too much even for my DSL as soon as i have more than 2 people connected to listen :(
I'm down to 22 k/s lol |
