Posted - 01/07/2005 : 08:39:04 Anyone been by justconcerts.ca lately? In the top 5 right now:
1) Interpol (live, Toronto) 2) Arcade Fire (studio live, Toronto) 3) Fiery Furnaces (live, Toronto)
Not to mention a backlog of concerts and live recordings that you've gotta love. The FB live in Regina is one of my favourite live FB recordings.

Posted - 01/10/2005 : 07:00:54 Yeah my friend bought his solo record the other day. I've not had chance to listen to it yet but he says it's very good. I must say that some of the songs from the concert on justconcerts.ca are fantastic. They are not on the Electric Version so I am guessing they must be on the first one. I might download them first from Limewire to see if I like.

Posted - 01/10/2005 : 06:55:20 It's just that Canada is very big and the big cities are in central Canada and then Vancouver on the west coast. It's a very difficult country to tour across since cities like Winnipeg, Saskatoon, Edmonton, and Calgary are considered small markets even though they'd be able to fill a venue the size of one they'd fill in Toronto or Vancouver here. So most people just stick to Ontario/Quebec/BC and the rest of us are out of luck. That's why it was so great that the Pixies STARTED their tour here. So it's more likely they'll tour Europe than try to come visit us hicks.
Mass Romantic has moments, but I'm not sure the record's worth buying. You sort of listen and put it down and never really have any compunction to pick it up again. AC Newman's solo album is great though.

Posted - 01/10/2005 : 06:40:11 Oh yeah Vancouver, that's what I meant.
Why will The Arcade Fire tour Portugal first? Are they due a European tour and have toured Canada recently? Must be due the UK too then soon.
I am listening to The New Pornographers now. Good to hear their older stuff. It's very good. I will have to buy the first album now.

Posted - 01/10/2005 : 06:25:46 The Arcade Fire session was in a studio, but very cool. Some new material (at least to me), and the rest sounded really close to their record. I can't wait for them to tour Canada so I can see 'em live (though the odds are better of you getting to see them in Portugal first).
Glad to oblige, Mr. Mike! I think Richards on Richards is in Vancouver, though.

Posted - 01/10/2005 : 03:59:23 WOW, this site is bloody brilliant. Thanks Dean. I am listening to British Sea Power live at Richards On Richards in Toronto right now.
I had heard of a site that did this just yesterday. I will be able to tell my friend exactly which site it is now. Thanks again Dean.
