Posted - 01/06/2005 : 20:34:35 Tar Tar... we miss having you around-- especially the local insomniacs!! Best of luck with all your plans. It's so true, its so much easier to do the school thing after working some crappy jobs. We can't wait for you to post when you have a chance. |

Hello!
I think your plan makes sense. Whatever you decide to do, be nice to TarTar and have fun.
Stick around.

Posted - 01/06/2005 : 17:30:38 Here I am!!! Here I am!!!
Yeah, I was using the computers at the college to do all my online activities so now that it's break, I'm not online often.
I don't think I'm going to bother with school anymore. It just hasn't been working out for me the last year and a half or so. I just can't motivate myself to get on task.
I'm just gonna work crappy jobs for a little while. Once I get sick of all the stupidity involved in doing that, I will long for school and will be hungry for knowledge and gladly return. After a few semesters back in school, I will grow tired of that and look to the days of just working and sleeping as the glory days and return to that... and on and on. It's a vicious cycle.
Thanks for the thread, yah'll. Good to be missed. I'm at my most popular when I'm not around.
I'll be around here and there.

Posted - 01/06/2005 : 12:49:52 My ex used to really like the Pixies. They are one of the few things that survived our break up. I hate most things she used to love now. Just goes to show exactly HOW great the Pixies are.

Posted - 01/06/2005 : 08:48:55 This is such a weird thing for me.
The girl I love likes this horrible thing called "flamenco chillout", but I love her anyway.
If you're waiting for a girl who loves FB, you're restricting your possibilities to a 1% (perhaps less) of females.
Oh!!! And Dean. Probably my opinion isn't trustable because I'm a male, but I'ld had taken her words as a clear sign. My two cents.

Posted - 01/06/2005 : 07:49:42 Actually, it can be heartbreaking too, I posted my ex a parcel a couple of weeks back, some books and cd's I'd copied for him, and he called me after he'd listened to all the cd's and was raving about the ONE cd which was my new favourite (MARK LANEGAN BAND - BUBBLEGUM [not that I'm hinting to everyone]) damn him for his excellent taste.
Sulk.
I remember making a mix tape for the first guy I ever kissed and he hated it. Dumped. You're so right, it's totally intentional.

Posted - 01/06/2005 : 07:03:23 Oh, it's intentional. I know. I have friends with generally bad music taste, but my close friends at least have all come to appreciate the brilliance of FB (if not to the same extent as me), and I've got my one radio lovin' friend slowly moving away. Though it took me telling him about bands like Franz and then them appearing on Much a year later to make him realize he should actually check out some of the stuff I'm talking about. Oh well.

Posted - 01/06/2005 : 06:58:17 It's a good point, ex boyfriend education was my main introduction to the pixies, I already had a good grounding though.
Gosh, I just had a little think about that and I don't even think I have any friends with questionable music taste, in the minimum they really like at least one of my top ten bands and my closest friends are practically musically identical...
I'm an unintentional music snob!

Posted - 01/06/2005 : 06:27:10 Yeah, her piano playing aside, her musical interests are questionable at best. Any time you ask someone and they say, "Pretty much anything", you just don't dare follow up. It can't be good. To clarify, I work with her on weekday lunches. Or used to.

You hate kath, tho - i know that.
The girls say she's signalling.
I dunno. Did she say that Pixies were "absolutely her favorite band."? If not then I'm not sure that she was for sure coming onto you.
They have a point though. Women don't usually say what their plans are unless they want you to know or want you to try to force them to break them. "Hey - I was just gonna go home, get drunk by myself and flip bottle caps into the aquarium...maybe we should get together and do something..."
The last lunch shift thing might have just been raw emotion - had to go somewhere - somewhere to someone that might just understand for just maybe a minute or two and might have thought about her enough to say bye but you didn't so now you get to kick yourself sort of deal... Or maybe she wanted more tippage.

Posted - 01/05/2005 : 20:11:28 Counted and noted. So now I actually have to decide if I'm interested and what to do if I am (and moreover, how to tell)... it's a little more complicated then you might imagine, but I'll think on it and appreciate the advice.
Now, if only TarTar were here, he'd give me the whatfor. :)

Posted - 01/05/2005 : 18:08:34 Dean... I agree w/ Kiki... the the liklihood she was trying to pick up is high. She's signaling... hey I am going to be back on the market soon. I hate to say that but when I was much younger and single... I would kinda test guys out to see they're interested before dumping the other boyfriend. Kinda like trading up. It's evil... but so true. If she wasn't interested, she would pretend to be all into her man even though she's not to blow you off. |

Now I do as I please and lie through my teeth. Someone might get hurt but it won't be me. I should probably feel cheap but I just feel free and a little bit empty. No it isn't so hard to get close to me. There will be no arguments. We will always agree. And I will try and be kind when I ask you to leave. We will both take it easy. But if you stay too long inside my memory, I will trap you in a song tied to a melody and I will keep you there so you can't bother me. |

Posted - 01/05/2005 : 09:03:00 Ack, definately coupled with it, why do you think I asked if she was purdy? It was a bit of a come on, she thinks you're LURVELY (though of course, as do we all)
I had visions of a blossoming romance accross a lunch time table then, you know, eyes accross a crowded room sort of thing. Disappointed I am.

Posted - 01/05/2005 : 08:58:50 Couldn't it just be that she wanted to tell someone? Or that she is giving me the reason for her going home on New Year's since I asked why she was just going home?
I suppose coupled with the 'last lunch shift' thing, maybe not...

Posted - 01/05/2005 : 08:50:00 Dean, you dirty dog you, a woman doesn't just casually mention to a guy that she's fresh off a break up. To quote Frank (oh, let's!), '"that's the sign of her love behavior." Women don't just randomly pass along that info. She wanted you to know that she was available. Perhaps interested, too?

Posted - 01/04/2005 : 20:50:04 Well, as long as he's still alive and well.
To answer whoever asked the question, she's not really pretty but seems to be a nice girl. We haven't really talked much, she told me New Year's Eve that she was going home to watch a movie or something, she'd just broken up with her boyfriend and didn't really feel like partying much. And I learned that she also plays piano. That's the extent of my knowledge about her I'm afraid.

In high school I was obsessed with Jackie du Pre (cellist), who was 5'10. She married Daniel Barenboim (conductor)who is a whopping 5'3. They were the most adorable couple ever (until she got MS and died after he had been having affairs/children with other women for the last 15 years of her life. Other than that).

Don't you have a crush on Frank? He's what, 5'6"? Seems like I'm always taller than the guys I date, it's a good way to weed out the insecure ones.
