He lived a life full of twists and turns and helped launch many jazz careers (including Billie Holiday and Roy Eldridge). When he got tired of it, he just walked away at the top and pretty much stayed away. Plus he had 8 wives, so something must have been attractive about the guy.

Interesting fact: "artichaud" (pronounced "Artie Shaw") means artichoke in French.

He has lived a long life 94 years. One of the last Jazz greats. My condolences to his family, friends and a dad who is a huge fan.

Well when we finally get to heaven, just think of all the awesome Jazz music there will be!
