I've read that it's gone for good and that's how it would seem, but I haven't seen any kind of explanation as to why it is gone. Does anyone care to enlighten me?

torrentreactor has filled the gap suprnova left, for me anyway.

Why don’t you learn to tune your damn guitar?”

Well, I for one am happy that it's down. More than nine tenths of the stuff on there is commercially available material, and if the RIAA starts to come on to them, it's likely they'd do the same thing to the good places like easytree and what not.

I'm really liking everydayjones right now, although there are hardly any members and hardly anything to download. Easytree could easily be just as good as STG, if they would only add a forum.

Thanks for the links mun chien. What do you mean by p2p comment? Pardon my ignorance, I'm an internet dummy.

i don't know what happened to suprnova tho' some voices said that it went commercial (i don't think so. it was a croatian website so maybe they are cracking down on p2p due to possible UE future)

add these to your list:

www.filelist.org
www.idesir.com

both forum based.

p2p forever. if you have it, share it.

Bit Torrent isn't going anywhere...for now. RIP suprnova.

ww*.indietorrents.com/ edit-up & down at the momement, but try back, you won't be disappointed.
ww*.thetradersden.org/index.php? STG alternative
ww*.tweekies-takeaway.org/tweekie//index.php?referrerid=4345 edit-torrents unfortunatetly removed for time being
h**p://oink.me.uk/
h**p://everydayjones.com/BitTorrent/index.php? STG alternative

With the demise of suprnova, the masses are starting to flood the smaller torrent sites. Many won't be able to cope with the increased demand and will be slow or shutdown for good. Some have started to close their doors to new users for this reason. The filesharing landscape changes once again but it will never go away.

well there is still easytree or soulseek and the good old traditional trading. don't worry about it, i'm sure that something else will come up soon. it always does.

That's so sad! It was like the internet utopia.

The same question was plauging me this morning, as I desperately searched for a recording of the 12/4 Camden show I attended last night. Sorry I can't provide any information though.
