went to this last night. if you like these kinds of martial arts films, you should love it. i thought it was better than HERO (released this year too, by the same director).
with films like these, you have to get past some of the over-the-top drama / romance elements and just enjoy them for what they are: they're like fairy tales. or poetry. with very simple messages about love and honor, good and evil.
but visually stunning and poetic. this film deserves to win best cinematography, even though SPIDERMAN 2 will.
but again, the story and the drama elements make the film drag a little, but it's worth it to get to the beautiful fight scenes.
also, after this film, HERO and CROUCHING TIGER i officially have a crush on Ziyi Zhang

saw the preview last weekend - it looked awesome. top totty indeed.
I went to buy some camouflage trousers the other day but I couldn't find any.

Yreah, i have a cheap -super-player-dvd thing. they are brilliant. Ł30. cool.
Now I do as I please and lie through my teeth. Someone might get hurt but it won't be me. I should probably feel cheap but I just feel free and a little bit empty. No it isn't so hard to get close to me. There will be no arguments. We will always agree. And I will try and be kind when I ask you to leave. We will both take it easy. But if you stay too long inside my memory, I will trap you in a song tied to a melody and I will keep you there so you can't bother me. |

I love those DVD players, mine is one too. My housemates is a posh and tempremental one, ha ha ha...

No, I saw it on my damned TV. I have one of those cheap "I-can-play-everything" DVD. One of the best buys I've ever made.

To be fair, I didn't like Audition that much, but I was absolutely drunk when I saw it. It probably deserves a second round.

The title makes it sound like a grindhouse film from the 70's.
I liked Hero quite a bit, so I'll have to check this out.
