Daisy, I hope it didn't seem like I expect them (expect in the implore sense) to get married just because they're having a baby. I agree with pretty much everything you said. Charles and Jean were together for ages before they got hitched so he obviously doesn't need a ring to validate his relationships. The blog really cracked me up. Can you imagine your friend/ex writing you out of the blue to tell you they're living with one of your musical heroes? Must be a trip, and the poor guy seems totally shell shocked. I can't wait to see what he says about the Chicago shows. It did make me wonder how Violet can tour with the band when she has two little kids. I haven't heard anything about them coming along for the ride, so maybe they're with their dad. Are Joey's kids on tour with them?

I've never raided the grocery store, but I have wandered around Sams Club or Costco eating samples all day long instead of buying/cooking a meal. This was a weekly occurance at univeristy. When I moved into my dorm room freshman year I realized that I was the only person on the floor without a rug to cover the blue linoleum floor. I priced a few out, but being that I had more important things to spend my money on (alcohol and books, in that order) it was decided that I would have to go a nontraditional route. My friends and I headed down to the Papa John's Pizza across the street and asked for our carryout order (which we hadn't bothered to call in). The staff (one guy, maybe 17) seemed really embarrassed about not having our pizza and went into the back to sort out the problem. We sprung into action and started rolling up the red, green and white Papa John's rug we were standing on. Unfortunately, there was no specific plan going in other than "steal the rug" and the damn thing was like 10 ft by 12 ft, so it took a little longer than we'd hoped. About 3 minutes longer. The poor kid just stood behind the counter staring at us while we crashes around the room and out the door. It took another few minutes before we could cram it in the car. Oh, and we took a pizza, too. The rug was great, stayed in my room the two years I lived there. It was made out of that wacky astro turf material. I eventually accessorize with matching official Papa John's industrial metal napkin holders and cheese shakers. Ah, college, how I miss thee.

Yeah, but I've never heard Charles refer to Violet as his fiancee, only as his girlfriend. Often as his "new girlfriend." But you may be correct, and I can't imagine that they wouldn't get married. It's possible that his divorce is taking a long time, those can often stretch on for years if there's lots of stuff to divide up. I imagine that could easily be the case after over 15 years of couplehood.

Sounds like Violet is a one woman party.

Cool Haiku...

Yeah.. you are so right and sometimes those divorce things drag on forever. Let's just hope this is not the case in what's keeping Frank and Violet from being married...because that would suck... personally I think who ever made marrage a legal institution was a sexist pig.

Anyway dayanara... i just did a crappy job of making my point on that post... what i was going to say is that you can't always tell about the label... I mean... I am guessing from frank wearing the ring... it's a symbol that they're partners....the technical label doesn't always mean anything.

Actually, I hate the label husband. For at least half of the year were were married i still called my husband my boyfriend becasue I was used to it and i just hate that word. I did the same thing when he was technically my fiancee... it did get a little confusing at times and I needed to clarify that I wasn't cheating on my husband and that my boyfriend and husband are one in the same... so i guess what it boils down to is what we see from our perspective as fans... it's hard to really know what's going on and i know you feel the same way and I hope the rest of the fans feel the same way is that Violet and Frank are partners and this is the real deal...just because it isn't offically legal. That's why i didn't post all of that earlier b/c it was so long winded ...

But that is cool about the blog... I haven't seen that. I am a little confused because the other picture I saw of Violet was of a totally different person. So they're equally beautiful and sexy and Frank is a lucky man to have such a great partner and mother of his child.

That was so cool about reading about Violet's college days. Anyone that didn't have fun in college like that ... I question. The story of the mall brought back an experience of mine while being under the influence... and having the munchies we drove to the grocery store... being too hungry and impatient to go thru the grocery store...wait in line and get home to eat it...while waling by the bulk food bin and grabbed some candy and was like "i'm sameling it"... then we just kept grabbing handfuls and eating while walking thru the store...then we got to the chips isle and rippped open a bag of doritos and started snaking...my friend lalo was like...opps this bag of cookies just opened itself... we did it about four times...i didn't do it any more... but it was just so funny and we were just cracking up so hard while we are doing it. ohh then there's the time we tried to hop on board a moving pizza delevery car for a ride... the poor driver was so freaked out... or the time I slid down a 3 story pillar with 6 guys waiting to catch me at the bottom...i am not proud of those times... but it was so funny at the time...and even looking back...classic...

They didn't get married, but he's been wearing a wedding ring for the last six months, which is.... weird. I could barely get my last boyfriend to let me keep my toothbrush at his house, let alone wear a damn wedding band when we weren't married.

The sun goes down at like 6 here, which is stupidly early. Still 80 degrees outside, though. Had to get my jacket out last night, it dropped down to like 65. Brrr.

Palm Beach County, baby! We get all the fun weather (finally got the roof put back on last week) and we enjoy fucking up national elections, but it's a trade-off. My house sits on land that was a swamp 15 years ago, in a neighborhood that was really nice 5 years ago but is now surrounded by gang warzones. I get woken up twice a week by the damn police helicopter shining the search light in my yard. Might be time to move. Still, I'm 2 miles from the beach an within a block of 3 golf courses. Not that I actually play golf, but it's nice to know that they're there.

Good times, indeed. But it sounds like something Frank might have penned and that's good enough for me, babe. Where is it 73 degrees right now? Jeez!

73 and sunny outside. Kathryn, I'm ashamed to say that it's MY haiku. I don't think Frank would ever utter something so totally lame. I wrote it down on a napkin (in a drunken stupor) after the Pixies gig I went to. Just found it under the seat in my car last week. Good times.

It snowed today! It must be the collective forum energies that Monsieur was so wistfully going on about.

Hey, when did Frank say that? Your sig haiku, D?

Yeah, the ring's cute. He's a keeper that Frank. At least in my book.

I am the snow queen.

I have decided that no snow shall come to paris until

A) It snows in England ( at least for 3 days, and it has to settle)

or

B) I go to paris...it can snow then.

But yes. Im making you wait as you want it too much. I shall only snow when you need to go somewhere really important, then I will snow you in.

mwahahahaa

Now I do as I please and lie through my teeth. Someone might get hurt but it won't be me. I should probably feel cheap but I just feel free and a little bit empty. No it isn't so hard to get close to me. There will be no arguments. We will always agree. And I will try and be kind when I ask you to leave. We will both take it easy. But if you stay too long inside my memory, I will trap you in a song tied to a melody and I will keep you there so you can't bother me.

Didn't the two parents-to-be marry?

Monsieur, I hate to disappoint: it is an unusually mild winter in my part of North America. It's December and there is no snow! Usually, we are snowed under by late October. Imagine how I feel as a skier!

Oh and the Pixies started their show in Montreal last Friday night with your beloved "Into The White."

Did you hear what I said? Did you hear what I said?

I am joining in on your snow dance. Please send some my way in the mid-atlantic. Actually, it spit snow and sleet at my house over Thanksgiving Day. It was great to see. Time to go skiing, hopefully.

All the forum should dance in order to bring snow to Paris.

Just get naked, think hard about snow in Paris, and start dancing (to "Into the white", if possible). Our combined energies will send a strong message to the Snow Queen, and she will come.

Oh yes, she will come!

Does anyone know a ritual dance that I could perform?

A dance that involves getting drunk would be perfect.

A snow dance.
