Posted - 11/24/2004 : 13:38:34 anyone seen this flick? came out in 2002 but i just saw it on DVD..
true story about three half-Aborigine girls who were put in a camp for "half castes" which they did at that time in Australia (1931) and escaped and walked 1500 miles to get home.
i was transfixed, not getting up once to smoke or eat anything.. amazing.

it's a true, incredible story. it's well shot, well acted, well directed. a little heavy-handed at times with the racism message. but, three little girls (age 8, 10 and 14) walked 1,500 miles through the desert to get back to their family. punk rock.
i thought the title was bad too, but it's kind of integral to the story. they follow this rabbit-proof fence to find their way home.

Posted - 11/24/2004 : 14:13:32 Really? It looked awful, really awful. And I thought the title was about as lame as it gets. I figure if they can't even write a decent title, the movie has no chance, true story or not.
