Has anyone been there? I'm looking into going next year, and was inspired by Dean's thread to ask advice...
Any recommendations of a cheap way to do it, as it looks a bit pricey.

I'll fly over and make warm cups of tea for the swimmers when they all arrive.
I'll have some aluminium foil (al-you-min-ee-um - it'll be british foil)
because thats what they wrap those people in when they come out of the channel when thay swimmed that.
Kendal mint cake too, thats an active thing.
And maybe a chocolate biscuit if I haven't gotten bored and eaten them all.

wow, iceland looks pretty. i wanted to see egypt next but hey, egypt isn't going anywhere. count me in for Iceland.

Perhaps if Frank isn't busy he can be in the boat cheering us on...with a bull horn. Or singing, that would be better.
It would only be fair though for him to spit his time between the North American and European swim teams.  |
