Hopefully some of you computer gurus can help me. My monitor is doing some crazy shit, and I'm not sure if it's a monitor problem or a computer problem. Every time I come back to the computer after it's been idle and the screen turns black, when I move the mouse and the screen comes back on, about one fifteenth of the screen on the right side is VERY fuzzy, so that everything is almost blurred out and you can't see anything; and when I turn the monitor off and turn it back on, everything is okay again. It does this every time, without exception. Then occasionally, when the computer has been idle and the screen goes black, I'll come back, move the mouse, and when the screen gets turned back on, the screen resolution gets changed automatically to where everything is huge, and I have to go to control panel and change it back to normal. Then, every once in a while, the screen will just become spasmodic, going off and on, and turning really fuzzy like a TV with bad reception (in this situation, generally the screen stays black until I click, at which point it will come on fuzzy and go off after about 2 seconds and every time I click it comes back on), and I'll have to restart the computer. Anyways, that being said, SOMEBODY PLEASE HELP ME!!!

I think Tre had some very good advice regarding this situation in the last Tip of the Day thread.

In the fog of my fever today, I thought this topic was "My mother is fucked up!" Now I'm disappointed as I did not get to read horror stories of peoples' families. Feel free though.

You need to do both things to make it work. But well, it's just my opinion.

For the first two, turn off the advanced power options and put a plain black screensaver. It's a shitty way of fixing it, but better than buying a new monitor :)

Sounds more like a monitor problem than a graphics card thing, but who knows...

Well, I didn't quite understand every thing you said, but I've changed the power chord and I'll see if that works, and if it doesn't, I'll turn off the advanced power thing. Thanks!

Have you tried slapping it with the flat of your hand and swearing at it? Works for me.

Moving from the clown to the jester will mean moving from similar to same, from alike to identical, from comparable to analogous. Though applied differently, the colours used on one can be used on another, and a couple of changes of costume will rapidly transform the jester into a clown and the clown into a jester. Strictly speaking, they almost duplicate each other as regards clothes and function, the only difference between them, from a social point of view, is that clowns do not usually visit the palaces of kings.

My monitor is just about fallen off my laptop.

I dunno.

Reinstall/update the driver for your graphics card.

Try the degauss option, maybe.

Take a bite of the chocolate coffin.
